Beisel Still Scares me
I am still very much not a Beisel fan. Granted the writers say he's bigger and stronger this year than last year. But getting bigger doesn't change the heart or the fire that burns in a player. (Or lack thereof in Beisel's case.)
However the fact remains. Bruschi is best on as weakside LB for the Pats. No LB that I can ever remember makes as many big plays like Bruschi does from that spot. The thought of Bruschi in the strongside role is kind of scary. At 33 years old, how long til he breaks down from the pounding. At 6'1 or maybe 2, Bruschi will be going against guards that are 3 plus inches taller than him and 60 plus pounds heavier than him. That's a tremendoes amount to ask from him.
Ideally I'd like to see a Claridge or Alexander claim the strongside role on running downs. Keep Bruschi on the weakside. And then maybe put Beisel in on passing downs. Maybe.
