Lomu

I just spent five minutes rewatching his feet in the mirror. I wouldn't bet against Caleb Lomu at LT and Will Campbell at RT in 2027. Your best pass protector belongs at left tackle, not necessarily your best overall lineman

I feel like we got Fleeced last year with Campbell @ Four. Which shows the Tackle class was very weak last Year. Lomu looks more athletic than Will Campbell.

Campbell wouldve been the top OT taken in this draft as well.

Either we got fleeced last year or got a super great bargain this year. Is the glass half full of half empty?

Is he tough? How are his hands? Can he start Day 1 or what's the timeframe?

I think Lomu has better feet and balance in space; Campbell is an all-pro in everything else.

Vrabel and company are so much better than BB Drafting. They don't Draft draft 7th Rounders in the Second.

Doesn't mean he can either. It's an unknown and a risk. They say the transition is easier for college players than nfl veterans, but not all players thrive moving to the opposite side.
Except, he has. On a limited basis.

Lomu's footwork and mirroring are his strength. He has better length can Campbell, and a wider frame and broader base.

Campbell knocks the intangibles out of the park, and is a very smart player.

He certainly seems to get square to the edge rush more quickly.

Defensible, but less of a sure thing than you expect in a first rounder, even when your pick is at the tail end of it. I don't follow college football at all: just too corrupt and corrupting for my perhaps overprecious sensibilities, so I can't be sure, but I find it hard to believe that there was not a better prospect available at one of our other positions of need. This is, it seems to me, an instance of drafting for need, and I think that the fact there is so little certainty that this player will really fill that need is at least a little worrisome. I'm not gonna complain about it: I'll hope for the best, root for the old home team's greater wisdom, but I'm not sure I expect it, the best, that is.

Does the guy look a little squishy to you? He kinda does to me. His numbers in the various drills are pretty impressive, though, so maybe that's a false impression. Some fat guys are surprisingly athletic. When I was in college, there was a fat guy on our basketball team, a friend of mine. He looked like he belonged in the stands, stuffing down fried dough. His last name was Ball. They called him The Wrecking Ball, because when he drove to the basket, which was pretty much all he did, that's what he looked like. It sort of looked more like bowling with human beings than an exhibition of the fine art of basketball. He started both his junior and senior years. Several of his more gazelle-like teammates rode the pine.
