That's a good place for Hoyer. I don't care what the depth chart there currently says - the job is wide open for Hoyer or anyone else to grab.

He'll get a fair shake from Lombardi - and those two year non-guaranteed contracts usually indicate that a team has some hope it'll turn into a wise move.

Lombardi has been a big Hoyer fan for a long time, so this makes a ton of sense. I remember when Zona traded for Kolb, he thought the best value backup at that point was hoyer and that Kolb would struggle throwing down field.

1 for 2 so far, but I could see Hoyer making some starts this season.
