Trading him before 6/1 would raise Dak's cap hit for 2025 from $53M to $148M.

I think he could be designated post 6/1, but it’s still an absurd dead cap for a guy that is currently a very good QB.

Trades can't be designated post-6/1. Of course, they could wait until 6/2 to do the trade (but that wouldn't work for the alleged plan here).

According to longtime Cleveland Sports broadcaster Bruce Drennan, via his own show, the Browns are apparently working on a major trade to acquire Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

While this is indeed probably fake something is going to give soon with the Dallas Cowboys and I could definitely see it being Dak.

I expect them to suck next year again and I would imagine Jerry looks over at Dak and Lamb and wonders why he is paying them. (Then we trade for Lamb and we are cooking with gas)
