[Fake news] Dak Prescott to Browns being discussed

Browns gotta Brown, that’s a move of a desperate staff
Maybe Prescott can get us 8 wins:

The Mavs just unexpectedly traded Luka to the Lakers.

Nothing would surprise me if this were to happen.

Dak once again wrecked the QB market with his latest extension. Maybe the Cowboys are finally realizing they will never win with him.

This "report" was debunked by a beat writer on X, fwiw. But honestly this would be good for us. I want Sanders and Ward both going in the top 3 so we get Carter or Hunter. IDC who gets them.

Slight preference for it to be the Jets moving up for Sanders only because many evaluators think he's high risk and them drafting a bust QB is good for us. But I don't pretend to actually have a clue about the QB prospects.

How many overrated and expensive QBs are the Browns going to trade for? Didn't they learn their lesson already?
I stopped counting after Watson.

They could do it if they're drafting a rookie.
the salary cap is 279M right now, so they'd be eating like more than a third of their 2026 cap with a player not on the team. I doubt that happens.

Wow. Just when you think that the Browns can't make any more stupid decisions, you're proven wrong (if they do trade for Prescott).

It appears to me, that ever since Jimmy Johnson was sent packing and Jerry became the GM, it became impossible for them to win a SB. Why? Simple. Every player that's come to the Cowboys since Jones completely took over (however the player was acquired), just knew that whoever the HC was, they could always bypass the HC and go directly to Jerry. In short, anyone who came in as HC was a "Lameduck" when it came to wielding any power over players on that team.

It's not because of the talent on the team being the reason they haven't won a SB since their last one. Teams have won SB's with much less talent. Prescott is better than some QB's who've won SB's. They had Elliott at RB. They had the best OL in the NFL for a few years during those times. The only thing that makes sense, is the culture due to the extreme meddling by Jones, and every HC since Johnson being neutered in the minds of the players. It can also be rightly argued that the coaching staff has been subpar. But that's because few HC's worth their salt would come to Dallas because of Jerry. So, their not winning SB's really has nothing to do with the teams talent, but do to with all of the other reasons.

Dallas taking Sanders doubles the chances to Hunter at 4.

Pretty sure Giants would take Hunter if Ward and Sanders aren’t there. I’d take Carter in a heartbeat, though.

Dallas' best chance to get back to the Super Bowl was in 2007. They had a pretty good shot in 2014 had the referees made the right call and ruled the Dez Bryant "drop" a catch. Jones didn't like taking a back seat to Parcells, so he told Bill he was taking control again which was why Parcells left. That team was loaded and would've easily made it out of the NFC. Pats vs Cowboys would've been the most hyped up Super Bowl of probably all time.

Since then, they've have some good teams. But like Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, they weren't good enough and had glaring weaknesses that were overlooked during the regular season only to rear it's ugly head once they face the NFC's best. Also, Dak just strike me as a guy that has urgency when the games could be getting out of hand or when the team needs a drive. Like Rodgers, they fold like a lawn chair when things don't go their way.

Prescott to the Browns?

Rumor is Cowboys are trying to move up to 2 to take Sanders.

Offering a huge package including Prescott.

According to longtime Cleveland Sports broadcaster Bruce Drennan, via his own show, the Browns are apparently working on a major trade to acquire Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Seriously Bruh, do you have to post every dumbass thing you see put on the web by some attention needy basement dweller here?

SI.com?
A lot of other media outlets were sharing it as well.
Sorry I didn’t call Jerry Jones or the Browns staff to confirm.

Since the buyout SI is right up there with FanRumours, another source you post from. Your broken Facebook links have more credibility

I guess they probably don't care if they get clicks, but ESPN and SI should really have someone there with a basic understanding of contracts. Because dead money alone makes moves like trading Justin Herbert and Dak almost impossible to do.

You'd also think anyone posting here for 10+ years would know better. TBH that's the only reason I commented

Jerruh is not very bright, but he ain't that dumb.

Trading him before 6/1 would raise Dak's cap hit for 2025 from $53M to $148M.
