LOL. The NFL changes the time of the Steelers and Chiefs game

The ratings theory doesn't really work. The Sunday afternoon time slots for the divisional games are historically some of the most-watched -- the game might actually have drawn better numbers at 1pm with no competition, than it will in primetime, especially in single-TV households. And that's before factoring in NBC's losses for having to run filler at 1pm and preempt the Celebrity Apprentice.

If the NFL and NBC thought that the game would do better in primetime, they'd have scheduled it there to begin with.

I see your point.
I read that they're expecting whether to get better as day goes on (As good as can be) and it would give them more time to clear roads etc which would make sense in that regard. I can never put anything past nfl*. They'll never get my benefit a doubt.

Most likely the city will be immobilized and the power will be out as well.

Postpone to monday night or even tuesday looks probable.

Never seen Tom Brady and Sub Zero in the same place..

Oh I heard on Dale & Holley it was starting at game time

This is sarcasm, right?
The Onion would be a more credible source, on...anything.

Ahh yes, I am sure they considered the same thing before Raiders vs. Pats Snow Bowl. Not, the NFL gets softer and softer every day.

This is GREAT NEWS for the Pats (if we win of course).... It will leave the winner of the Chiefs/Steelers game even less time to prepare for the Pats, especially if it's the Steelers... They will have major delays getting back home. Wouldn't be surprised if they are forced to spend the night in KC and fly home back on Monday.

I smell #ICEGATE coming....

ICEGATE! -- I love it! That actually sounds like a catchy gate for the Pats. As a matter of fact I'm now hoping for ice tomorrow or next week at Gillette. It comes off the tongue nice and smooth. It almost sounds like the words ice skates. Gives the haters another reason to be infatuated with the Pats. I will miss the haters when this run ends. The day the nation doesn't hate is the day we are as relevant as the Buffalo Billdos who are only talked about when their coach is fired. Seriously.

Embrace the hate with CameraGate/AirGate and now IceGate!

Go Pats!

Good idea. Buy time for the city services (plows, police, etc.) to improve their plan. Of course they will have to deal with what are likely unintended consequences (e.g. colder temps during a night game affecting logistics), but so be it.

No way this game gets moved to Monday or Tuesday unless there is lightning. This game will get played in an empty stadium if need be. There will be outrage at one team getting very short rest for the AFCCG and the league won't postpone the AFCCG to accomodate that.

Regards,
Chris

Power will be out so they'll have to play monday or maybe even tuesday. People can be mad, but you cant play without power.

I can just hear Tomlin complaining now that the Patriots were somehow responsible, saying "It's always the case that we experience weather issues before going to New England!"
Of course. Nobody is like BB. He is committed more than any of these idiots. Bill has set the standard, and now all of these coaches, GM's feel they need to work harder to even try to keep up. And the MFL (as a whole) doesn't want to put in the effort . And don't want to. They want to make easy money, and live a pampered life, IMO.

(Get a contract, market and "sell" the team to sucker fans, who buy tickets, merch, TV packages... )
The MFL is looking to expand it's reality TV style product here, Mexico, China, etc... It's watered down BS. BB isn't sacrificing his many years of HARD work to satisfy the MFLs new marketing strategy.

Not happening. This is the last of the "real" football you will ever witness. ... Good luck with the marketing plan Mr. Kraft. American Idol style , here we come. Where's that show now????

Ehhhhh...the league might actually have made the right call from a safety standpoint. It looks like the precipitation is going to let up by the evening hours and temperatures are supposed to level off around the low to mid 30s, with the Weather Channel's hourly forecast saying it'll go from 33F around 4pm to 34F by 10pm.

I love to trash the league as much as the next person...actually more than most (except Joker). They're still incompetent assholes, but a blind squirrel finds his nuts every now and then.

The weather is legit supposed to be bad, my friend is driving back to Kansas from Arkansas and is worried about this ice storm.

I don't **** around with ice. I'll drive in snow with little reservation, but unless I have studded tires and 4x4, I'm not ****ing with ice. If I were your friend, I'd stay put.

Ice kills instantly and once you start slipping, it's over. That gas tanker driver in Baltimore probably knew 10 seconds before it happened that he was probably a dead man...not a good way to go out.

They wont have it cleared by sunday night. Itll be postponed to monday afternoon at least. Theyre lucky it's a holiday. May be postponed to monday night. Be hiarious is its tuesday night, steelers wont get home until wednesday.

I would be shocked if they moved the game to Monday, even though meteorologists are saying they should postpone until Monday.

If they did would they move the AFCC to next Monday?

He ended up spinning off the road, he stopped and hit up a hotel after.

They should be, the last real ice storm we had was devastating, I broke my arm the first day of it and had friends who lost power for a month.

The weather forecast predicts constant precipitation throughout the day and night. It also has a tiny window in terms of temperature, with a predicted rise from just below freezing to just above freezing during the afternoon and night.

Like most forecasts, it will be inaccurate by a bit. If it doesn't rise above freezing, and ice keeps falling rather than rain, moving the game into the night will only make things worse (its dark). If it does, then this was the right call. We'll see.
