That’s a nightmare ticket. They ever come to power, you can kiss the US goodbye
An absurd suggestion, based upon the person who has been proposed as the coach. But, it never ceases to amaze me how insecure many men are by the thought that a woman might be better at their job than they are. Fraidy cats...
LOL, we can kiss the U.S. goodbye right now!
Yeah more or less
You're already two years too late on that.
“They should have gone with Kanye.”
“They should have gone with Stormy.”
These are two statements that I’ll feel comfortable making should the Browns hire Chuck Pagano.
Condaleeza Rice is a just a diversion to keep the fans thinking one thing, while slipping in another JAG to coach the Browns... do agree with the idea of Rice as Commissioner of the NFL.
I doubt that there's any truth to that story.
However. she was interviewed when she was Secretary of State and asked what would be her dream job. I think she caught everyone off guard when she said that her dream was to be commissioner of the NFL. Too bad she didn't get it or the Pats would have had more draft picks and maybe a couple more SB wins.
Until Bush named her Secretary of State I didn't know a thing about her. After doing a little research I came away impressed.
No, but Marvin Lewis did.
At a bare minimum, Condi would be a decisive upgrade over Goody.
Of course she would be an upgrade. Anyone who looks at her record of achievements objectively would know that to be true. She's an incredible woman.
I'm going to get the rest of my response in now while this thread is still open. It won't be for much longer.
It's pretty difficult to have an actual mature discussion once politics weaves it's way into a thread. The wrong side won the election in 2016 for us to have civil discourse, here or anywhere else.
Agree. I'd like it to stay on the discussion of Condi's credentials as a exec in 345 Park Ave. As a HC or GM I just don't see her as a fit. Maybe a club president...
Somebody played Adam Schefter. That's probably not easy to do, but it seems like this was never a real discussion.
Even she knows she's not suited for the job of HC. I think I saw that here in this thread. But she clearly would want to be the Commish. The problem is that the owners are happy with the slime ball they have in place now. There's no way that Rice would have lied in court to keep the power over the players that Goody gave the owners in the Brady case.
Browns thinking outside the box?? I like the angle the conventional way haven't worked haven't works since Kosar/Mack.
She would do better than the last coach. Could not do worse. I wish her the best of luck.
While I think she could potentially be an asset in some sort of advisory role, I do not believe for one single second she is being considered for head coach.
We, of all people, should be aware of how often the media reports things that are just completely made up.
There can't be civil discussion because most people dismiss any view alternate to theirs as ridiculous, and immediately dismiss anyone who questions or flat out disagrees with a sentiment as "deplorable." It seems to me that the acceptance of those different than ourselves, readily touted as why the "woke" pc-idolizing left is morally superior, really only applies to those who share liberal values. This is why the right was able to trot out the blithering idiot we call president, and stave off an institutionally influential and established figurehead in Hillary.
If the DNC hadn't been so shady with how they handled Bernie, we likely would be having this discussion. Do you think the dems learned? Or are they going to double down on a similarly caustic personality with Elizabeth Warren?
The reality, @1960Pats, is that we have all become so emboldened by groupthink and butthurt, that not matter who won the last election, your sentiment of "the wrong side won" would likely be strongly supported by over half the population (as I'm assuming it is now. Dont care to look it up.). Hillary walked into her campaign with a disapproval rate (pretty sure it's the wrong term, % of people who are immediately turned off by her name) nearing 40 or 50% (forgive the generalities, my old man spent some time in politics and explained it to me at the time). Anyone in politics could have told you she had no right to run based off that alone. What does the DNC, the party of "we know better than you so well just legislate your life," do? They dump all their eggs into her basket, and do everything in their power to hamper any threat within the party while they started planning her coronation.
Dont get me wrong, I think Trump is a God damn fool who is legitimately dangerous to our foreign policy and diplomatic relations. But he does have some ideas that make sense. If Twitter would just ban his God damn account, and he let the people that get paid good money to speak for him do their job, we would be in a much better place.
It had to be said, sorry.
Makes a lot more sense if she joined the front office in some capacity to bring some outside the box thinking or a new approach to business (both on and off the field), but if we’re talking Xs and Os even if she’s a really smart fan, c’mon now lol.
