Tom Brady may be the greatest QB of the modern era (call it post-Otto Graham), but I'm far more in awe of Peyton Manning because he really is kind of a living legend.

What makes me really angry about the whole "Pats cheat" argument is that it totally de-values why the Pats win. Hard work. Plain and simple. Every player who has ever come to the Pats has said that you work your tail off.

And I think this is a reflection of our society as a whole. We can't understand why person X or Y gets ahead and we don't want to accept that it could be something as simple as hard work.

Nobody today wants that answer. Few embrace it.
Luck in lotteries, winning lawsuits over spilt coffee in the lap, are the accepted cultural methodologies for "success". Too many feel entitled and react angrily when denied.
When a superior culture in business or here in football that internalizes the necessary hard work and succeeds wildly as a result, the envious who do not achieve attack that culture and demonize those who epitomize it. It's sick.

Thinking positively, this culture gives the NEP a decided edge and increases the likelihood that the team will always contend as long as the culture thrives here. It was lost for a brief period in 2009 but BB brought it back. No easy feat.
