LeGarrette Blount On Crutches

Even if you like Bolden, they cannot go into a game with 2 RBs on the roster.
Not to mention that you're not going to take someone who is not a workhorse/bruiser and make him that. I know what his measurements state, but Bolden is not a physical back who can carry the load consistently. Aside from a really good game against Denver a few years ago and a few really nice runs here and there, he really is not ideal as your main back. That's why it will have to continue to be RB by whatever committee is left and the quick passing game. I guess we could all go back and forth about Blount's effectiveness, but having that body in the lineup was taken somewhat for granted, it would appear.

I was hoping that it was just a hip pointer, which hurts like $%$@ initially but heals up in a week or two.

I don't think you'd be on crutches two days later with a hip pointer, though, so it doesn't sound good.
Could still be a strain (flexor). Crutches are for rest, 2-4 weeks, depending on severity.

So now Brandon Bolden is the RB1? Ouch.

It's not like we had much of a run game with him starting anyways.

I'm just wondering what you're basing this opinion on, since he's been relatively successful any time he has been given ~15 carries. I find it very odd that you are pooh-poohing giving a 220lb back 13 carries a game. I'm not saying he is a bruiser or a workhorse back, and 13 a/g is not indicative of a bruiser/workhorse back.

I'm not saying we shouldn't look for some additional help if Blount is out long term, but I don't see how feeding Bolden 13 carries a game for a fraction of a season is some kind of issue.

Most likely this. Crutches wouldn't do anything for a pointer. And if it was anything worse he'd already be IRed.

Kinda hoping they give Williams some time this weekend.

If he runs like he did on Sunday Night I say he will be serviceable Bolden made somehing out of nothing a couple of times...more than we could say for Blount. If there is not a gaping hole in he Defense Blount is pretty useless and our O-Line ain't winning any run blocking awards this year so Blount with White spelling is it. Maybe Trey Williams gets promoted.

This is why we definitely must get the bye week this year! No ands, ifs or buts about it!

I think they'll go as far as they can without making a decision; through the TN game, at least. Roster spots at this time of year are critically important and you don't want to commit one until you absolutely have to. They'll let it ride; see what the injury situation is post-TN, see how Blount is coming along, assess how the PS RBs are looking, fold in what thenext game plan needs, etc, etc, etc.

I'm bummed out but I guess all the Blount haters can throw their party now. I'm sure they're thrilled with having Bolden, White and some random Walmart manager off the street running the ball now.

I don't get the hate for Blount. He's averaging 4.3 ypc on 165 carries. We're paying the guy virtually nothing. Why are people expecting Corey Dillon?

It's likely the same group that's always complained about him.

Eric Martin to be cut and Trey Williams to be signed in 3, 2, 1....

Montee Ball is still a FA as well, but man that kid fumbles like crazy...
