Ian's Daily Blog - Chris Price of WEEI.com reported via Twitter a few moments ago that Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo was seen walking through the team’s locker room without crutches, a brace or a limp. According to Price the 2nd-year linebacker politely declined an interview request, but the news is certainly encouraging as he continues to recover after injuring [...]

Walking without a limp is the most encouraging part. Sounds like he will be ready sooner rather than later.

3-6 weeks like I said.

The fact he was not wearing a knee brace is also encouraging.

God speed, Mr. Mayo. I like Mayo on a lot of things, but injory reports isn't one of them.

Awesome..

Is it too much to expect for him to play against the Ravens?

We need a lot of help to contain Ravens. They are putting 30+ points in a game.

Pretty amazing day yesterday, considering our top two defensive players were both out for that game...

going by BB's history of dealing with injuries,if its early in the season then he wont force the player back unless he is completely game ready. if this was week 14,we probably would see mayo sooner.
my prediction-after the bye week.

sweet. big vince supposedly has a sprained ankle, which doesnt sound too bad -- but i'm not over 300 pounds

Great news. Keep him off the field until he is 100%...we need him for the long haul.

if hes progressing that nicely, i say hes back for TEN...

I still don't expect him back until after the bye week.

Mayo may well be capable of playing sooner, but the risk of injury is greater if he makes an early return. I think the Pats will play it conservatively, particularly if as the defense is playing well right now. Better a healthy Mayo for the 2nd half of the season than rush him back and get injured again. We will need him healthy in the postseason.

Barring any other LB injuries, I think he'll be back after the bye week.
