Krafty Bob sets up Brady tribute

I think Jimmy G has enough eyes on him as it is...
Yesterday on WEEI's football show, Tanguay sang a similar tune and so did Volin this morning in the Globe. Namely, that expecting poor Jimmy G. to perform well in the shadow of the Brady tribute was adding an unfair burden to his task. Are you ****ting me? If Jimmy Garoppollo allows that to affect his play, then he never possessed the ability or focus necessary to succeed in the first place. Talk about mentally weak... I hope and expect he's better than that...

Maybe some socks with a pig wearing "the shield" as a hat.

For everyone.

This stretch of games is HUGE for Garoppolo. It could make or break his NFL career.

Speaking of WEEI and Garoppolo, he's on in about a half hour (8:05).

If he allows a picture of Brady in the stadium to negatively affect his play, "this stretch of games" will likely be his last. The most ridiculous (non) issue I think I can ever remember, and if it is, indeed, an issue for JG, then he never belonged in the stsrter's position in the first place.

When it comes to who is qualified and rational in discussing anything to do with the Patriots those two clowns are dead last .

Jimmy will be fine with the pic. My god what a non issue

It's AZ, HOU, BUF and the LOLphins that concern me defending a Qb who has never started an NFL game

This is where we differ @patfanken. There's no way in hell that I agree that Kraft was fooled by anything. He's no fool. During both "gates" he sided with the owners and Goodell over his HC and his QB, the two people most responsible for the success of the team and the rise in revenue and ticket prices.

I don't hate the guy at all. I save my hate for Goody and the NYJFL, where it belongs.
Bob said he put his faith in the league to do the right thing and hot hosed in the process. While faith and "given assurances" are two different things, he clearly was expecting Goody to do him a solid....

Kraft was butthurt for a few days, but has gone right back to his boot licking of Godell.

Just because a couple of mediots want to make it an issue, it doesn't mean that it is an issue. Things started to go wrong when you put on Tanguay and it continued when you read Volin. Stop doing those two things and the problem will go away.

The other non issue was the one about Brady being selfish by playing in one of the preseason games.

I listened to Tanguay because he was on the WEEI Sunday morning football show (which I love and have listened to for years) principally because Chris Price was the other co-host and Ireally like him. I read Volin because I happen to subscribe to the Globe online which has some sports writers I like (Chad Finn, Jim McBride, Gary Washburn.). I feel secure enough to listen to and read those with whom I disagree. If you don't, that's your prerogative just as mine is to do what's my prerogative. I'll make this deal with you: you don't tell me what to do and I won't tell you what to do. And finally, it's your prerogative to disagree with my original opinion, which is this: if JG's performance is negatively affected by big, bad Tommy's picture in the stadium, then he's not worthy of being the starting QB of the NEP, or any other NFL team for that matter.

That would be a lot more believable argument if Spygate never happened. Spygate got Kraft to double down on his devotion to Goodell, becoming his little sidekick, helping Goodell to bully other franchises into accepting unjust punishments. If he truly believed that than he is too mentally incompetent and should not be in charge of the team, which in turn would give him more time to flash his billions at the local high school while trolling for a new girlfriend.

A very reasonable position to take.

I think Spygate was a panic move for the league and Goodell and the other owners convinced Bob that fans might think that everyone cheats. By making the Pats and example would squelch that. Maybe he saved BBs hide in the process. Who knows.

For Deflategate, I think Bob was always hoping that the facts would surface and the team and Tom would be vindicated. Once May rolled around and the owners told Bob to shove it, he put down his sword. I do believe he thought Goody would be fair to Tom if he accepted the sanctions. Clearly delusional.

On both accounts, he was always focused on making sure he did NOTHING to upset the apple cart andthe flow of money into the league and Foxboro. Picks, a million bucks and some employees suspended is a small price to pay for unanimity with the other owners and billions of dollars in revenue.

Man, did you go over the top with your sensitivity. You were the one complaining about Tanguay and Volin in response to a poster claiming that JG had enough eyes on him. I simply offered you a possible solution to the Tanguay/Volin nonsense. It wasn't a direct order Francis.

My name's not Francis, Dink...

JG's got a pretty good team supporting him, and therefore I think he'll be okay.

...I just hope he's not reading this thread.
