Kraft: zero DV tolerance - no Mixon

I'm not always good at translating my gut takes into words, one of my many failings.
Words are far from perfect vessels of communication. Even when chosen with the utmost care, they differ from the precise intended meaning.

I think we are getting far from the point here. (btw- just from reading the last few pages). I think there was NO doubt that Mixon COULD have, and SHOULD have chosen a dozen better options than what he did, K, on that day. What he did was WRONG, dead wrong. I don't think anyone is denying it or should be trying to defend it.

But what generally happens when someone does something wrong. Well first they punished, and Mixon was. Then there should be some kind of recompense to the victim, and clearly there will be. Third there should be some sort of understanding of how the situation occurred. It there ARE some shades of gray here.

I guess what I'm saying is, Does this single even throw Mixon into the same category as a serial abuser of women. Have their been other examples of him assulting or abusing women in past relationships? If it has happened in the past then he clearly doesn't belong in the league. However if this was something that was a one time occurrence I can see no reason why he shouldn't be on everyone's draft board.

The kid has paid a high price for his mistake. He is currently paying a high price for his mistake, and he WILL continue to pay a high price. A lot of money is going to start to go to his victim. He will make millions less than he could have. And he will be under microscopic scrutiny for as long as he is in the public eye.

Wrong doings should be punished, but for forever???? If you truly believe that then we should definitely be branding people, or cutting off the hands of first time thieves, or, well you get what I mean.

So in the case of Joe Mixon, the question is when is enough, enough?

Yeah, all good questions. Similar to how Michael Vick was viewed after being released from prison.

I think the issue with the parking attendant should be taken into consideration.

This is obviously a minor incident on its own, but after reading about it, I can't be 100% sure he learned his lesson from breaking the other woman's jaw. It seems like he has anger issues and I don't have confidence they won't come up again when he's in the NFL. I'm not saying he should be banned from the league but let him be somebody else's problem.

People on this board think we should have seen Hernandez coming, well Mixon has way more red flags than that guy.

I could also see the other point of view though (i.e. that he's paid his dues and should be given a second chance), it's another arbitrary appeal to whatever moral standards you abide by :) But face it, you guys are gonna love it when he gets drafted by the Jets and we get to rip on him for the next four years.

KontradictioN by his own description is a victim of domestic battery, but feels like he can puff out his chest and act morally superior because he chose not to do anything about it -- that's ****ed up. It's ****ed up what happens to men in some relationships and they just let it happen for whatever reason. It's just as ****ed up as the woman crawling back to an abusive husband or boyfriend, but at least that gets the correct level of legal and social pressure against it, while all a man in the same situation gets is laughed at.

Where did I "puff out my chest" about what happened to me? All I did was give you an example out of my own personal experience about how there is always a way out of it for a man. The fact of the matter is that I have boxed competitively and could have seriously injured my ex, had I wanted to. Instead, I recognized the fact that she was smaller, weaker, and usually drunk and simply either shoved her, left, or (in the last case) held her down until she calmed down. The day after that, when she sobered up, we broke up. Mixon had all those options available to him and had an even bigger athletic advantage on Moliter than I had with my ex at the time, and still went for the haymaker. That you're trying to excuse him whatsoever for his actions there is absurd. Sorry that my example blew a hole in your argument, but should you find yourself in a similar situation, you'll find that you hesitate to swing back too. Trust me.

i find sitting on a post (in other words, writing it but not submitting it) for a while often helps. gives you a chance to calm down, refine your thoughts, and perhaps see things from other people's points of view. a lot of times, i end up not submitting the post at all.

i find the same strategy works in relationships as well. never a good idea to try to resolve things when you're all "het up".

I think Bob Kraft putting more salt on the kid's wounded draft status and jeopardizing his career does no one any good...except make everyone aware the Krafts/Patriots are against any violence towards women. Point noted.
Now STFU and go count your billions, Bob.

Most people see a butterfly in this inkblot test. I wonder what Simpleton sees.

I watched the video.
Mixon follows Molitor apparently trying to get a reaction. We are not sure what was said. Something causes Molitor to react suddenly and push Mixon away. At which point he explosively spits in her face. She goes to slap him and he decks her, breaking bones in her face. Then he turns and exits.
I guess you can see and interpret what you want.
If this is how you are wired it's hard to expect something different. Mixon appears to be an agitator, a bully, and a brutal thug.
You can also defend Ray Rice, asking what his nagging fiancé said to justify his response. But it's hard for me to watch a video like that and suggest she had it coming.

What if you saw a series of skulls? That's what I saw. Maybe I need therapy.
I saw a butterfly made of skulls too. That isn't a Rorschach picture. It's abstract art and the skulls are suggested by what is known as ''negative space.''

It reminds me of a skull of some kind of deerlike animal I saw once, carefully displayed with a horizon-and-sky backdrop so that if you look at it abstractly you almost convince yourself you see an eagle spreading it's wings rather than a dead skull and horns

And once you see the ''eagle, '' or the ''skulls''I don't think it's possible to fail to see them if you look again.

Abstract imagery and what the power of suggestion can do to the mind is amazing.

Did he spit? That looked like a threat display to me

Was he following her or the guy with her? He appeared to walk over and face the guy first.

They both went in before him. Fact is that if he wasn't in there, nothing would have happened.

If the Pats refuse to place Mixon on their draft board, then I can understand that,
and I don't disagree with it either. This is a deep RB class, and there should be cleaner if not quite as talented Power Backs available from 96-161.

But does Bendover Bobby have to blab to the world their intentions? Doing so serves no strategic purpose whatsoever except to make his cowardly ass feel better.

And shame on the Cleveland County DA for accepting an "Alford" plea with Zero jail time instead of a full prosecution almost certain to result in a Guilty verdict PLUS jail time. Betcha Mixon would've better learned his lesson then.

More hypocrisy? AP to visit Patriots.

Hitting a woman is unforgivable but whipping a 4 year old can be forgiven? Lest we forget...........

"The prosecution in the case alleged that Peterson used a tree branch to beat his young son repeatedly on his back, buttocks, genitals, ankles, and legs. Peterson described the implement as a "switch", a form of punishment that was used on Peterson in his own childhood. On November 4, 2014, Peterson pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge of recklessly assaulting his four-year-old son. He avoided a jail sentence after reaching a plea agreement with a court in Texas."

Give me a break. This is an organization that signed Albert Haynesworth, just last year signed a player who tried to murder people while driving drunk and is now kicking the tires on a crazy piece of trash that beats his children with tree branches and see absolutely nothing wrong with it. Not an ounce of contrition. But a guy defending himself against an attacker is where Kraft draws the "moral" line because his attacker happened to have a vagina? Women want equal treatment only when it suits them.

This is the same guy who sold out loyal Pats fans and laid down for Commissioner Hitler as he smeared our team and one of the greatest players in Patriots history in a witch hunt without a shred of evidence. This is the guy who not long after he put his wife in the ground started desecrating her memory and making a fool of himself by running around with gold diggers young enough to be his grandchild. **** his arbitrary version of morality. He is the last person who has any moral ground on which to stand. This team's moral compass vanished when Myra Kraft passed.

Wow. You hate Bendover Bobby even more than I do.

And technically, the Fat Albert acquisition was a trade, which was actually worse because Bill stupidly threw away his 2013 5th-rounder for him.

Does "big-government socialist" work for you?
