Kraft regrets giving Belichick so much power without “checks and balances” in place.

Where did I say that? What I said was:

“Belichick got outperformed by Marty Schottenheimer in Cleveland. And not just by a little - by a LOT.”

And I am 100% correct. The results are so lopsided that it isn’t even disputable.

Just because you're playing obtuse do I also have to participate?

Happy Friday!!!!!

@Pape @Steve102

I used to really like RK and admired the fact that he was a fan and then bought the team he was a fan of. Over the years though I am at the point I can't tolerate the dude and every time he speaks I want to punch something.

Dude seems to always play a victim of something and tries to play it off that he is the glue.

This was the first one delivered to my house. 12 year old me had to hide it from my disapproving mother.
I remember that one. My Dad was the one that had the subscription.

Marty Schottenheimer was a pretty decent player. In NE he backed up some good linebackers in Cheyunski, Philpott and one of my favorites Bull Bramlett during hapless Clive Rush/John Mazur era. Not a star but a very solid reserve. Also, though not in the league of the GOAT BB, Schottenheimer won over 200 games as head coach. No Super Bowl wins but that is more wins than Chuck Noll, Dan Reeves, the Tuna and current day Mike Tomlin(who never had a losing season). I think Schottenheimer is similar to Chuck Knox. A very good coach who never got the ring. Inferring that Schottenheimer was a better coach than someone is not the knock that some might think it is.

I said what I meant and I chose my words carefully, forgetting how many people in this forum have the reading comprehension skills of the typical 3rd grader. Schottenheimer outperformed Belichick in Cleveland. This statement is so self evident as to be beyond dispute.

If you are smart enough to understand the difference between "outperformed in Cleveland" and "is a better head coach" then please feel free to participate.

If, as I suspect, you are not intelligent enough to understand the difference between those 2 phrases, then please see your way out of the conversation.

Just curious but why is this such an important distinction for you to make?

Because an individual with poor reading comprehension skills claimed that I was arguing Schottenheimer was a better HC than Belichick when I have claimed no such thing.

That's not what I mean. Why are you even fighting over someone's opinion of the preseason chances of the 95 Brown's?

When the Patriots extended Mayo during the 2023 offseason, they reportedly included a head coach-in-waiting clause in his contract. More recently, Kraft said that he knew Mayo would be Belichick’s successor five years ago during a trip to Israel. Lombardi said that Mayo “was late for staff meetings because he was meeting with Kraft.”

We know why you made that point. So either your playing stupid now or are stupid.

If Mayo initiated those meetings he deserves the criticism heading his way. Either way RKK owns contributing to a dysfunctional environment which makes his recent shots at BB even more cringe worthy.

I wonder if Kraft was holding back Stephen Belichick too.
