Kraft regrets giving Belichick so much power without “checks and balances” in place.

Remember the "terrible" Cleveland Browns of the 80's? The one that ended the decade with 5 straight playoffs including 3 AFCCG's? There's some weird inability to not deify BB by some here.
BB deserves deification!!!!

What I remember is the Browns came a heckuva lot closer to the Super Bowl in the 5 years before Belichick’s arrival than they did the 5 years he was there.

I do not, however, remember if the almighty Dr. Z picked them to go to the Super Bowl in those 5 years before Belichick’s arrival.

can't go wrong with the latest derailment... good stuff

gonna toss my hat in the ring, champion Kathy Ireland...

This was the first one delivered to my house. 12 year old me had to hide it from my disapproving mother.

He either doesn't go back that far because he doesn't know or won't go back that far because it weakens his ****ty argument.
Uh, the fact that the Browns were Super Bowl contenders (REAL Super Bowl contenders, not your idiotic “well Dr. Z picked them!” fake contenders) before Belichick arrived, and then sucked once he got there, strengthens my argument, not weakens it.

Belichick got outperformed by Marty Schottenheimer in Cleveland. And not just by a little - by a LOT.

Schottenheimer: 44-27, 2 CCG appearances
Belichick: 36-44, 1 divisional round appearance

The winning from the Belichick/Brady combo shielded us from the Kraft we see now.

The idea that this guy belongs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame is insanity.

Add to the fact that Bob was on the verge of firing Bill in 2001. Then he believes he was the reason for the Dynasty.

Wrong. You made it a point to say no one picked CLE to go the the SB. I cited someone and he wasn't alone. You were wrong. It's a historical fact.

In 1994 CLE was 11-5 with the #1 defense and added talent that offseason. They were a popular and legitimate preseason choice in a wide-open AFC. You clearly don't remember or the BB hate is blinding you.

Multiple teams have lost in the divisionals and have gone to the SB the next year. Suggest you research that.

This has nothing to do with our debate. If you want to say BB sucked in Cleveland go for it.

Patriots fans saying Schottenheimer is a better HC than Belichick is bizarre.

She got to the Cheryl Tiegs fishnet photo and had a meltdown. I learned pretty quick I needed to bury ****.

I had condoms in the glove box of my 1979 Toyota Celica, buried in the back, under all the crap that accumulates in glove boxes. My father brings them to me one day, mind you I am over 18 at this point. Asks "what are these?" and I roll my eyes at him as he's holding them out in his hand. He adds that I should put them someplace where my mother won't find them. So I retort "Like in the bottom of my glovebox, buried so no one will find them? Tell her to stop snooping in my ****." There was no further discussion. I moved out shortly there after.

Oh yeah. This old SF geek has seen many reasons for it to be unworkable. Just as well, given humans' capacity for effing things up!

FACT: A team is (or isn’t) a Super Bowl contender based on what they do on the field, not how many mediots make predictions for them in August.

FACT: In 5 years of coaching in Cleveland, Bill Belichick had one winning season and won all of 1 Wild Card game.

FACT: You look stupid calling the above performance that of a “Super Bowl contender”

According to your idiotic logic, Cincinnati and Jacksonville are both Super Bowl contenders this year. After all, they each had mediots predict (in August) that they would win it all.

Where did I say that? What I said was:

“Belichick got outperformed by Marty Schottenheimer in Cleveland. And not just by a little - by a LOT.”

And I am 100% correct. The results are so lopsided that it isn’t even disputable.
