BB hate is strong. I think it is a political thing after he wrote that letter to Trump.

Was an organizational philosophy which they tried to adhere to. Never pay more than what Bill thought was fair market value regardless of dollar amount.Robert Kraft is worth $11 billion. I have a hard time thinking he said to Belichick that he couldn't have a million dollars more to keep Jakobi Meyers or make a competitive offer for DeAndre Hopkins.
That interview was embarrassing for Lombardi. What a buffoon. Why now? Because Lombardi in his fight with Felger let that slip as an excuse for Bill. He said point blank that Belichick was constrained by one of the lowest payrolls in the league. And EVERYONE knows Lombardi speaks for Bill.
GOOGLE the question: "Was Bob Kraft cheap during his ownership of the Patriots."Does this answer the question if the Kraft family was cheap?
6 hours ago Robert Kraft said:
"They say we've been low spenders in the last 10 years, and that might be true," Kraft continued. "But we had a pretty good record and we won three Super Bowls. "(Our decisionmakers) have been able to get whatever they want. Winning football games, after my family, is the most important thing in my life.
I am sure glad that I am not a fan of the "NE Revolution"
RK was hanging out at Mar-a-Lago all the time, so if that's the reason for BB hate...RK helped push Brady out the door too. RK is on record he met with Brady at his house like always and Brady walked out without signing the contract. RK could have changed the contract. But the BB hate is much stronger than the RK hate - listen to talk radio. Your explanation does not hold water.
Jon doesn't own the team...not yet.GOOGLE: Was Jonathan Kraft cheap during his ownership of the Patriots?"
Results of the search:
The Jonathan Kraft Patriots era is going to provide endless entertainment from Bill. Patriots join the list of legendary American sports franchises run in to the ground by nepotism (Lakers, Yankees, Knicks, Raiders etc)
Actually, there is a way to dispute that. Spending more now means borrowing from the future. Ultimately, cash spend and cap spend have to be equal over a period of years. I have yet to see a reasonable explanation of how Kraft can be cheap, over a period of years, given league requirements to spend to the cap.
RK was hanging out at Mar-a-Lago all the time, so if that's the reason for BB hate...
It's not some political persecution. It's because:
1. Rightly or wrongly, most of the blame for Brady leaving was put on Bill by the local troublemaking media. Maybe it's a zombie lie, but it's there.
2. The Pats aren't winning.
3. The Pats don't seem to be going in the right direction.
4. A couple of the head-scratching draft picks look good if they work out. A few BIG ones have exploded in the wrong direction.
5. Mac Jones going the wrong way in development.
6. Matt Patricia and Joe Judge running the offense.
I give Bill more leeway here than most and am grateful for the dynasties he brought to us. The last 4 on that list are hard to defend.
Was an organizational philosophy which they tried to adhere to. Never pay more than what Bill thought was fair market value regardless of dollar amount.
Not justifying the approach
Has nothing to do with Kraft’s wealth
I am not trying to defend BB. But when judging performance, it is common to judge everyone aginst thier peers. BB has done well compated to his peers Of course excuses have been offered and BB has not been the last few years. Still there is no need for the hate. Pete Carroll moved on in 2000, but people did not hate him. Maybe it is a talk show and Internet thing.
Do you know the Kraft family financial arrangement? Of Course you don't. So why do you post stuff you don't know about?Jon doesn't own the team...not yet.
************....Do you know the Kraft family financial arrangement? Of Course you don't. So why do you post stuff you don't know about?
Absolutely. Bill was always praised for his cap saavy strategies. Now, it's all because Kraft was cheap. How very convenient.I never got the point of this criticism. I've always gotten the impression that the team has both benefited and been hampered by BB's frugal spending. One person's cheap is another person's thrifty.
He does. That's why he fired Bill.He should care more about winning. Not what Felger and Mazz think
Has Lombardi ever blamed Bill for anything?I understood Lombardi to be saying something else. He was complimenting Bill's team-building approach as requiring patience. Felger pounced on that part of Lombardi was saying and he made something huge out of it.
I don't find Lombardi to be a good speaker or good with words. He was unclear in that way several times.
For instance, he blamed Mac and he blamed Kosar as being bad QBs. Felger pounced on him again with, "Again you blame the QBs, always the QBs!!!" Of course, as soon as the Browns moved on from Kosar, they went 9-4 with Vinny T., won a playoff game, and Kosar was never seen again. Just because this happened 2x over a 30 year career doesn't make it improbable.
He's already changed a lot of the team philosophy by firing Bill. Not 100% of course, but the coaching style, approach to management of the team, staff selection process, and we'll have to wait and see about FAcy and the draft.Who says he's changing team philosophy because of the local media?
You can't spend big every year. It's not sustainable.Dude this is not political at all, stop trying to make it that way.
Beyond that I agree with you that it will be interesting to see how the Kraft’s operate on a consistent basis. He could spend big now but pull back later. Well shall see. Robert wasn’t exactly known for being a big spender pre-Belichick.
