Of course, this is all moot, since he can't be claimed because the rosters of teams who's seasons are over are locked until after the Super Bowl.

Portions of unspent cap dollars can carry over under the new CBA, so not wasting money this year actually can positively impact next year

Rainey apparently also had some other stuff come up this year:

The fact that he was driving on a suspended license also begs the question as to why his license was suspended in the first place. Don't know the details, but it seems like there might be deeper issues with this kid.
