Kind of understand the hate for the Patriots

I appreciate those of you who gave rational responses to my post. I thought my write up was pretty fair - I spent a lot of time on it so that some people could understand.

I’m not taking anything away from you – just explaining that pats fans from 2000 are a whole lot different than pats fans of 2006 or 2007 (in attitude, not only in the sheer difference in volume). Eagles fans are by far the worst – but they have always been like that.

2007 however finally gave people / the media a great story and the perfect face for it – your coach. Prior to that it was tough for people to dislike your TEAM (fans another story). Nobody really hated the old 49ers because they were all “good guys”- same with the vast majority of your players. And yes, the media ran with it and overplayed it – but don’t they always? Same thing they do when they ballwash manning or brady, or when they spend an entire month talking about Bruschi’s stroke, or after the 3rd SB – when many of you were claiming no respect and the press was doing articles left and right about whether this was a dynasty.

I didn't think it was possible for you to be even more condescending than your first post, but I was wrong.
Trust me, all of us -whether we posted "rational" responses or not, understood what you are saying. (You don't have to spend alot of time writing a post so that we can understand it....as if you have to talk slower to a young child than you do to an adult.) And, what you are saying is, that we - Pats fans - suck, and we suck worse now then we did in 2000. (Not that you are taking anything away from us, of course...)
Fine, that is your opinion. You are entitled to it.
Here is my opinion: You are an arrogant, attention starved fan of some loser team who has an overriding need to lecture people whom you believe are beneath you and much more stupid than you, the latter category being comprised of (in your mind) the vast majority of the human race.
Since we have now exchanged opinions, would you please just stfu and go away?

There is a lot of woe is me from pats fans – it is hard to grasp. When idiot merriman got busted you guys went nuts – when rodney got busted a surprising number of people said “HGH isn’t the same as steroids – it doesn’t make you stronger” or “he was just trying to heal faster”.

Here's what I think...

I believe you and Ootball are one in the same posters using 2 different screen names. I know I could be wrong, but I have my reasons.

The Pats hatred (read envy) is not new. Back in Jan 2005 after the 2004 regular season but before the playoffs and eventual 3rd ring we were in Florida, Bucs country. My wife, a big Patriots fan, was talking about football with a guy delivering some stuff where we were staying. She was surprised to hear that someone didn't like the Patriots, Brady in particular. When she asked why, he answered "He just wins too much." That's it.

It's not cellar dwellers who get jealous or envious, but rather the teams the dominant team "just" beats out every year. It's the teams that are prevented from championships and all the accolade that get jealous the most because they are the ones who are affected the most!!

And you know I'm right!

Bill Belichick, the Patriots players and we as fans don't feel the least bit sorry for ourselves regarding spygate. We see it for what it was, "no big deal". It's some in the media who have chosen to make this a story and a big deal.

Manyopposing fans like yourself act as if they are owed an apology and expect Patriots fans to be somehow "humbled" by this. Well guess what my friend? You aint gettin' no apology and we aint acting humble!!

Why on earth should we?

Here's the bottom line to those who "are appalled" by spygate and the Patriots?
The punishment has been handed down and the issue is DEAD.
No matter what the media or opposing fans say, the Patriots are going to continue to win...and win and there's not a damn thing anyone can do to stop us

First off, I do not feel like I am owed an apology. All that I am saying is that Bill comes across as having the attitude of being wronged and now he wants to teach everybody a lesson. You are so wrong when you think I am jealous of the Pats, the last time I checked the Steelers and colts were the last ones to be hoisting the lombardi, not the Pats. Oh yeah, I agree the issue is dead btw, but it seems that the Pats organization are the ones that dont realize that.

Let me note, I don't give a damn what other people think of the Patriots, I love them to death and I hope they win every game 100-0, but I do understand why lots of people hate them.

Imagine your a fan of say the Jacksonville Jaguars or something. Your team has been playing well, but you get no publicity. Everyone knows the Patriots are good and are going to make a run to go undefeated, so no one else but us wants to hear about it.

I see it like the sports banquets in highschool. Everyone knows about the best person on the team, so don't talk about them, talk about some other people.

So I can now see why other people get pissed off about the Pats. They are jealous their team and want some publicity about their team. If it was the Jags going for undefeated and the Pats were 6-3 or w/e and getting no pub attention, we'd all be pissed as well.

I can understand it because i hated the Cowboys and 49ers.

Come back the week before the game. Don't embarrass yourself by starting yakking early like the Phins fans last summer. It just looks like you have to talk now because you realize you must get all your yakking done before the game, 'cause you won't get to after the game.

I disagree with the bolded part. If the Pats went 3-6, everyone else would be pointing and laughing. Instead, they're pissed off that they can't do that since the Pats....keep....on.....winning!

No we are *not* going down that road again. The real offense Steve was Ward saying "oh yeah they knew all our plays they were calling them out" as if they Pats needed to do anything extraordinary to beat those very flawed Steelers teams. Trying to go back in time and take from the victors the laurels that they *deserved* just because the little weasels sensed that maybe it was safe to try and do their own brand of "cheating" by implying that if everything were legal and on the up and up, the results would have been different. If anyone else wants to walk you through how wrong that was I will leave them to it.

Sorry...it's Black Flag time for those boys. Although to give them credit I expect that the Steelers will give them a good game being a well balanced offensive team and a typical good Steelers defensive team. I'd be surprised if there is going to be any "running up the score" in that game.

Still one can always hope. And I would love to see Ward get creamed a couple of times. Boy I hate that guy.

Yeah, well I agree maybe ward shouldn't have spoken up, but it just sounded like he got caught up in the moment so to speak, but whatever, he shouldn't have said it. Its funny that you say you hate ward though, it seems like alot of other teams fans do, personally I love the guy, hes a guy that plays very tough physical football, the way the steelers want to play, I dont see him getting creamed as much as him blowing up the defenders as usual though.
