gotta love these people who think 'he hasn't so he won't'

it's almost as classic as ANY relevance towards rohan davey.......why do people keep bringing him up and what does o'connell have to do with it.......just about as meaningful as saying if the pats draft an OL that he will turn out to be adrian klemm

He's not better than Cassel at this point, or he would have been in there last season. He does look like he's got some talent, but you just never know how guys are going to develop.

Good lord, you do go a long way to be ridiculous. The argument that O'Connell will be fine because he did alright against the scrubs in exhibition games is absurd, as you know. Other quarterbacks drafted by Belioli in higher rounds than Cassel have failed, and Davey is a prime example.

no.....ridiculous is compring o'connell to davey........the only thing they have in common is they are QB's........o'connell physicall AND mentally fits the mold of QB's who have turned out to be successful with the pats......neither klingsbury nor davey even come close in that regard......its funny because I've said the same in the past and you simply ignored it

are you trying to say that o'connell is set up to fail simply because he is a higher draft pick?

I will stick to my statement that I believe o'connell is a better QB prospect than cassel.......

I'm not so sure.........its already been proven that you can have an effective QB in their 2nd year with the pats.......it was also recently proven that you can take a QB with zero pro or college game time and have him be effective......

the only thing you can say with certainty right now is that cassel has more NFL experience

Thanks. You're proven my point about you being ridiculous.

That is Deus Irae's schtick. He comes in with completely worthless posts that aren't even funny. At least other posters when they come in off topic it's to be witty or funny.

but he knows........better than the rest

I can understand the view given where you keep your head

Yes, keeping my head in a position to observe what others are doing helps me to see how ridiculous you are. You keeping your head in a dark place just explains why you are that ridiculous.

keep telling yourself that........doesn't help the truth , but knock yourself out

Quit feeding the trolls. They know O'Connel will be better than Matt Cassel because he was drafted higher. All other QBs we drafted higher than Cassel are irrelevant. Logic is bias.

Where you been? Cassel is going to be better than Brady because he was drafted lower.

Remember Drew was drafted #1.

So nobody looks at stats? I was a little disappointed in cassel, but he still had better stats than O'Connell, regardless of competition.

46.9% with a 4.4 yds/pass avg.? Should we waive the 5 year requirement?

Not enough information to decide at this point.

People seem to forget we have O'Connel who I think wil be bettter than Cassel imo.
I'd feel a lot better about your opinion if I didn't recall that you predeicted we'd go 0-16 if Cassel had to take over from Brady.

Kontra, I think our schedule turned out to be much harder than expected due to the resurgence of Miami and NYJ, not to mention those 2 west coast swings.

We could have beaten Miami twice. The first loss was because they caught us with our pants down. Any team would have been in our position. Without the wildcat that day, they would have lost that game. But with it, even if we had Brady, I believe that would have been a loss for us. Their defense was on that day and their offense moved the ball with ease. The second Jets game stands. That was a tough game for our boys. Favre in ideal conditions before the end of the year.

The two West Coast swings are made to look difficult because we had to travel the country. I will be the first to admit that's difficult for anybody when one considers jet lag and the change in climate. But then you look at the combined record of all eight west teams: 45-83. I won't say the schedule was cake and maybe "ridiculously" wasn't the right verbiage, but our schedule was pretty easy. Give us our 2007 schedule this past year and we probably would have went 8-8 or 9-7 at the best.
