One man is not a team. I am shocked people around HERE have to be reminded of that. We will be fine without Moss.

so many Receivers go unnoticed because they are never thrown too.

Moss would get throws in double coverage.... and it was a big gamble.

Randy Moss gone is a good thing.

You are worse than the "no branch is fine" crowd in 06. It is just not the case that Moss' absence will be GOOD for the offense from a football standpoint.

Same as Seymour's absence is not good for the D-line. Although in Seymour's case the trade value was high, in this case it looks like Moss demanded the trade.

It isn't the end of the world (no one player is) but it sure as hell does not HELP the 2010 team, that is for damn sure.

not at all..... this team of 2010 has receivers...... terrible comparison

I know what we're going to see in terms of Pats fans over the next couple of weeks:

Brady has lost it, he's indecisive.

I see nothing in that tweet to rip Rhodes about. His point is absolutely valid.

You are absolutely right, I for one am looking forward to how they handle this. Moss was the perfect compliment to Welker, I felt. Cleared the underneath space for him, and I think Hernandez has benefited greatly from having Moss around. We will see how the Pats handle this.

Pats still have an awful lot of quickness on offense --Welker, Edelman, Hernandez, and Tate all have ELITE quickness and change of direction skills. You can't double all of these guys. Yes, the windows will be smaller, but TB is the most accurate short passer in the NFL.

Do we need ANY more proof people that Patriots players DO post here?

Yeah but IBBWT and all that stuff.

Yep.... now Moss is nothing more than a decoy, and that's not really important or anything. Having a receiver that draws a double team is nice, but having Edelman and/or Price as the WR3 and Tate as the WR1 is really going to make this team better. :bricks:

I love how the younger fans here are so enamored with "star" power instead of "team" Tells you a lot. Jersey Shore, reality TV, teen mom. Bleh.

I love how people forget how much talent was actually on those teams earlier in the decade.

Yes, lots of talent. Patten, Brown, Branch, Green, Phifer, Otis Smith, etc....TALENT....not "supa stahs." TALENT. Played team ball. Bought into "it." I want a team like that again. Is it possible in todays version of the NFL? Maybe not. I'm starting to think anyone younger than 25 is ******ed.

BTW - I am well aware that the defense back then was FAR superior to what I have on the field today. Not even close. And therein lies the real issue. With, or without, Moss, this team wasn;t going to overcome the dificiencies in the defense.

Yes, we can say that now because we look back and see what they did.

I recall the pundits of 2001 picking our team to finish dead last in the division. I also recall a lot of pissing and moaning about the 2002-2003 teams as well. I don't know why any of these internet gurus get taken seriously. If you are so smart, then you get a job in the NFL.

1. Moss showed up for every TC and every practice in every season he was here. He worked hard and busted his ass for the team. Sure, he was a superstar. But so is Tom Brady. Moss was, quite possibly, the most gifted physical talent on the team. You don't take a step forward by getting rid of a guy like him with, seemingly, nobody around to replace him.

2. Who are you to say that the defense isn't going to get it done? I haven't exactly been high on this defense, but come on. That's just ridiculous. This defense could reach their ceiling by the end of the season. Going into the season, most people thought that having a powerful offense, like the one we had with Moss, was a good thing because it would offset those growing pains. Now? Not so much. If the defense realizes it's potential by the end of the season and we've gone through a multiple game losing streak that knocks us out of the playoffs because our offense got shut down, then this becomes an even more horrible move.

The "talent" doesn't increase by trading Moss, what is your point?

You all can clown on Rhodes all day, as I believe he sucks too. However, the man makes a very valid point. Welker has been able to feast underneath because of the fear that DC's had for Randy.
