Kelvin Benjamin blows off workout.

Former Cowboys personnel man Gil Brandt, who now works as a draft analyst for NFL Media, claims that former Florida State wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin recently refused to participate in a previously scheduled workout with an NFL coach. Benjamin’s agent denies that.

Depending on where he's available I could see BB taking him, after all, we took Randy "I play when I want to play" Moss.

Except Randy Moss was well into a HOF career. And Kelvin "I Workout when I feel like it" Benjamin has proven jack squat in the NFL and runs a 4.6 40.

If I'm a prospect looking to get drafted, I don't blow off any workouts. If there is a team that I just don't want to get drafted by, then I either politely decline or tell them that I already have something scheduled for that day..

What's your point? Benjamin has the potential to be a useful asset and if the price is right I could see it happening. Apparently the guy needs structure and discipline, he was slacking off a while back and was given a talking to and got his act together very well, and then he fell off again with this incident.

And for the record, Jerry Rice ran slower than 4.6.

True but Moss was a once in a generation type of talent and should be a first ballot Hall of Famer. I don't know if I see that in Benjamin. I'd rather not go WR in Round 1 anyway. The position is too deep. Draft for DL in the first round unless a potential franchise quarterback like Bridgewater falls to #29.

While Rice ran slower than a 4.6, the cornerbacks, linebackers and safeties of his day weren't running sub-4.6s either.

Point is that, for wanting to make a living doing something he supposedly is good at, Benjamin is only hurting himself if he, indeed, blew off a team. That sends a message to other teams and you can bet your ass that every team out there knows whether it's true or not. That sort of Red Flag only hurts a player..

I don't think anyone doubts that it has hurt him, but the big question is whether that has taken him off BBs board. Would he be worth a 4th round pick? What about a 6th?
