Kayshon Boutte, how does he do it?

I loved the Boutte selection in the 2023 draft. He had been rated as a 1st round WR before his ankle injury. I really feel it took more than a year before he was 100% healthy, I feel it affected his 40 yard time. Even with a bum ankle, he ran a 4.5. I guarantee you that most defenders will tell you he runs faster than 4.5.

I’ll add that he runs crisp routes as well. He is truly the Pat’s deep threat, and obviously Drake has good chemistry with him. He also improved his hands. Had some drop issues in college, but has made some great catches in his career so far, so major improvement in that department.

He’s just a good receiver, plain and simple. He’s also proof you can find good receivers later in the draft. Hell, Diggs was a 5th round pick, look how great he’s been in his career.
Some of the best WR's in the NFL run a 4.5 or higher. He's faster than Pittman Jr., I think his 40 time is the same or faster than Higgins. He can be in the 6th Round, the type of WR's that BB missed on in back to back drafts in the 2nd Round.

So the wind did carry it a bit.

Or he slightly misjudged its flight, hard to tell. That sort of play is hard to approximate in practice since speed and timing are skewed by the opponent. Regardless, it was a helluva throw and catch.

People will throw up at the name but I see 2014 LaFell in him. David Givens is a comp that will make people feel a little warmer and fizzier maybe. I don’t see a “breakout” waiting to happen with him, but I do see someone who could poised to just have a super solid 10 year career and I’ll take that all day.
I was listening to Curran earlier and he said Booty is leading the league in Air yard reception average with 16.5 or 17, so he is averaging 16-17 yards in the air each reception and has 80% catch rate. I find this to be amazing because we have seen people have 80% catch rate, but there are normally dink and dunks in there but Booty is doing that on downfield throws. 18 of his 20 catches have been for 1st downs/TDs.

It appears that the majority of his receptions are 1st read throws, but that is just watching the game with out trying to track it so could be wrong. If anyone know that info or where to find it please pass on the info.

I know people want him replaced/upgraded, but my stance is that most everyone wanted that with Jakobi Meyers also and look how that turned out. He is only 23-24, so there is the potential for a lot of growth with Maye and Booty is super reliable.

Sadly I agree.

What has White done before to show us that he is just in a funk, and is not what we are seeing?

Maybe the light will just turn on like it did for Drake, and last year was a lost year under Mayo, but the clock is ticking on White.

Show us something this year or expect to be elsewhere next year.

I think White's best bet for success would be to put on 10-15 pounds and play the Lawrence Guy/ Deitrich Wise DL role.

i was thinking lose weight and go inside LB

Boutte showed last year he was a capable receiver and pretty much a lock for this year, I never understood people thinking he would be a cut candidate in TC.
100%. I was sold on Boutte after this play:

I don't remember most everyone wanting Meyers replaced. Just the opposite. Most were upset when Meyers left.

Most were actually upset he left. I was one of the rare people that wanted him gone because of arguably the worst play in NFL history and that I didn't want money tied up in a mediocre WR.

Some tardos here wanted to get rid of this kid for "Name" players ...
He's going to be one of those, this year.

Why do I need to ignore SO many people...
Fkn Pathetic, I like some of them, but just can't deal with it....I may have more Ignored than watch these days, and that's fkn pathetic.
You can't be just stupid.

If you ignore more than half the posters, it is much faster reading long threads.

GDTs could possibly even look rosy if you ignore the right posters.
