I am hoping we go defense with both 1st rounders but we all know BB surprises us.
Any thoughts on Blalock if we took him? He seems to be a great run blocker.
Just asking................

Outstanding size and bulk...Good athleticism, quickness and balance...Very strong and powerful...Stout at the point and does not get pushed back...Will overwhelm defensive linemen at the point...Has a great initial punch...Moves well...Smart and a hard worker with top intangibles...Terrific run blocker and a road grader...Nasty and plays with a killer

I like him a lot, I just don't want Neal on the bench . . . and OL aren't rotated the way DL are.

I would be a little surprised if they chose Blalock, but I wouldn't at all be upset. He's going to be a good one. IMHO, he'd be a safe pick...

I believe that BB/Pioli will target O-Linemen on day 2. With four mandatory picks, they can gamble on a developmental prospect. Someone like Mansfield Wroto from GT or Andy Alleman from Akron...

If we did draft Blalock or say Grubbs of Auburn to play OG, do you think that Neal would be moved to the bench, or that Mankins would move to OT?

I really think with this new zone blocking scheme we need to get faster at OL. Blalock is one of the fastest guards coming out this year and he looks really good. It may not be a need, but I would be satisfied with the pick. He will be a great player for some team.

Why don't you want Neal on the bench? What if the Pats brought in someone better than Neal?
Because I think the upgrade would be minimal. If we're looking at the OL I would prefer a RT and there's lots of other positions where I think the upgrade would be bigger.

Blalock has a very good combination of size, speed and quickness. Despite being 320 he was near the top of most of the combine numbers. He's also a tough SOB and a strong teamate and character guy.
