Absolutely. Even if JE is recovering perfectly, the beating that slot receivers/punt returners take means that you simply cannot have too much back-up.

So, according to this, surgery has been neither ruled out nor confirmed, but it certainly sounds like it could still be on the table.

Once a player has this injury I believe he is at increased risk indefinitely (and this is not his first), so in that sense we will never be out of the woods with Edelman. It is concerning not only because he is such a vital cog, but also because when you consider the vulnerability of the position and what we saw foot injuries do to Dobson and LaFell.
