I am assuming Josh will also be the QB Coach as he has tended to be for most years he spent as OC.

They’ve never really had pass game/run game coordinators, I’m not sure if that changes now - but it could. It’s an easy way to add extra talent to your staff via a “promotion”.

I could see someone like McCartney staying over in an Assistant QB Coach role for continuity’s sake.

OL Coach, WR Coach, RB Coach, TE Coach are unknowns.

I am curious if Cole Popovich is an option to come coach OL - currently Asst OL Coach in Houston, formerly the same in NE after leaving over the “vaccine mandate” rules in 2020 (IIRC).

Mick Lombardi was previously WR Coach in NE under McDaniels in his previous stint. Left with McDaniels to be his OC in Vegas. I’m not sure if he’s really that good.

Nick Caley was the previous TE Coach, so need new blood there. Ivan Fears was RBs, retired. A couple guys from McDaniels’ staff in LV could be options - Bo Hardegree, Edgar Bennett, Kennedy Polamalu.
McCartney can have the title of QB coach, with Josh doing much of the work.

OK, let’s ignore everything else and just look at how McDaniels’s offenses performed without Brady.

That makes it clear that it doesn’t work with bad QB’s, but that’s true of any offense. The basic assumption here and now is that Maye will be good QB.

The QB coach also needs to be able to help the QB with his game preparation and mental approach which is where Hoyer could help. With two young QB's to develop there is room to add Hoyer as asst QB coach with the primary guy focused on the role you describe.
I suspect that both McCartney and McAdoo have performed this role in 2024, McCartney with Maye and McAdoo with Milton.

Being 23rd with that Cam Newton is next to miraculous... Josh can walk on water.

Give him an offensive line.
I think that Mike will direct Wolf to make sure that we have a good OL (and DL), with all final decisions made by Vrabel.

Did he say what he was basing that on?
This is from the Guerigian article I posted earlier

If the past is any indicator, McDaniels is more likely to adapt his system to Drake, much like he did for Matt Cassel when Tom Brady went down with a season-ending injury, and later, when Cam Newton took over post-Brady.

For the mobile Newton, McDaniels developed a quarterback running game - which wasn’t in the Brady playbook - stocked with RPOs, zone reads, etc.

He’ll do the same for Maye.

There was one report where McDaniels spent the past season studying the college game, and some of its offensive concepts.
In the big picture, Hoyer believes Maye’s skill set isn’t totally suited to the type of “west coast” system employed by former offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt who didn’t take advantage of all of Maye’s tools until later in the season.

“When I really look at Drake and what his abilities are, he’s not really, in my opinion, the west coast type of quarterback,” Hoyer said. “West coast fits are (Matthew) Stafford, it’s Jarod Goff, it’s guys who are not mobile like Drake is.”

Some context is needed for all of this, no?

In 2008, the Patriots had an ultra-talented offense with everyone knowing the plays and their roles. So it makes McD look great that an offense lead by a guy who never started in college did so well.

He goes to Denver, runs into Cutler who is one of the most dislikable QBs to ever play the position, and Cutler simply didn't want to change. I suspect McD had a big hand in drafting Tebow, so that's his own fault, but Tebow was worthless as a QB.

Nothing to do with the Rams is McDaniels' fault. A talentless team and a coaching staff on its way out the door.

2020 is Cam Newton, enough said.

2022 is Derek Carr (who really just sucks badly) getting into a tiff because McDaniels didn't want him throwing a ton of interceptions like Carr was used to doing from throwing bombs constantly (23 tds-14 ints in 2021, 24-14 in 2022).

2023, there is no QB and the team crumbles.

My own mother wouldn't even defend me to this extent.

It was the right decision. Culter was a turd and locker room cancer. He was an average at best QB. McDaniels was right to trade him in hindsight. McDaniels' problem is he ultimately replaced Culter with Tebow rather than a real QB.

The memes that came out of Cutler's indifference and ****ty attitude were hilarious.

If y'all didn't watch much football during the Cutler era, you're missing out on a hilariously bad attitude in NFL lore. The guy have absolutely zero ****s.

That play, while he was in Chicago, against the Giants, where the runner gets stuffed and he just is standing there watching the two lines pushing is comical. I don't think he is mentally capable of caring.

Edit: LOL I just did some more reading on him out of curiosity and saw he proposed to his GF via text and mailed her the ring LMAO. Almost admirable how much of a emotionless rock that guy is.

7th with Matt Cassel and 10th with Mac Jones. Think of what he could do with Drake Maye, who’s a WAY better prospect than either of those 2 guys, by a mile.

I eat oatmeal every morning. So I'm a porridge guy now? That's not good, is it?
It's very good. Nothing wrong with oatmeal. I do the minute oats and add dried fruit, raisins, etc. I stay away from the bag oatmeal. Tons of sugar.

I've never been a cream of wheat.

Grits done right are excellent- just add salt, gravy and sausage lol.

Steel cuts oats are the best. I'll mix in some flax seed and honey then put some fresh fruit and top it off with some whip cream for an extra kick. That's how oatmeal is done right.

I love maple and brown sugar cream of wheat, but that is way overpriced.

Yep. Honey is key to unsweetened oatmeal.

And be sure to get real honey - not the fake stuff sold in most grocery stores.

I get mine from Costco and lasts a long time.
