I think drafting another third down back between the fourth and fifth round is a good value.
Here’s a guy I will bring Up Mcnichols from Tenn in free agency.
Yeah, definitely not opposed to that. The draft should be about value. The further down the board you get, the less you can pigeon hole yourself into a specific team need because the board is less likely to line up for that. Just have to take good players. You can always find playing time for good players, and Gibson isn't some elite player who will block another good player from playing.

I'm just saying that 3rd down back is pretty low on the list of positions I think we have to improve at if I'm ranking them. Gibson is capable IMO.

Gibson had 4.39 40 time (99th percentile). He was a good receiving back for WAS and even here last year considering how low volume the passing game was overall.

Do I think he'll be the best 3rd down back in the league? No. But in terms of positions we have a dire need for upgrading... that's one I'd be ok letting rock with who we have in Gibson.
Gibson has been solid and much better in the run game than expected. He has the profile to fit the role if it returns to the game plan.
.

I sure hope Josh has been paying attention to the league while he's been unemployed. Would have been nice to hire someone new. I'm so over this guy.

Tough to say exactly who because that depends on where their pick lands and all that. But seems a pretty good bet that they'll be terrible again if they hire a lame duck coach and that will put them in position to draft a promising QB coach.

And it's a different situation than what we drafted Maye into because they have some decent foundational pieces in place from good drafting on the rest of the roster (and tons of cap space too). If and when they suck enough to get a good pick, they should be a pretty attractive coaching destination. I can see a HOU situation where they sucked and had a couple of one-year lame duck coaches until they got a pick high enough to take a QB (Stroud) which made them a good spot for a coach to come in and turn around quickly if him and the QB they take can hack it.

When you don’t have a QB you build until you get them, the Raiders should be putting as many pieces in place as they can until they get a shot at a franchise QB.

I think Having a premier pass rusher in a QB league is crucial.
The counter is a premier OL. It is like picking one of your kids over the other. If the DL options are clearly better then it is not a question. Based on the QB class, teams may want to trade up for DL so who knows how it will play out.

Raiders should make a play for Darnold, Fields, or try to trade for Milton.

Two more words. Kyle Orton.

I'm not super high on McDaniels but he did get Kyle Orton to get over 3500 yards passing in back to back years with 20 or more TDs.

He also got Brandon Lloyd a 1400 yard season at WR with 11 TDs in Denver
He also drafted Tim Tebow in the first round, and traded a next years first round pick for a 5’8” corner named Alphonzo Smith

We need to hope some QB falls to 4 teams are fighting over.
Frickin Mayo if I was Kraft I would have fired him at halftime.
You can’t tell me the Bills didn’t throw that game.
So frustrating.

He wasn’t the GM I doubt Alphonso Smith was his doing.
I remember Smith, what a player whose college production did not translate to the NFL.
The KNeal Harry of DBs.

Be as well hiring Byron Leftwich he was good with Brady too and an "offensive genius" and unemployed and terrible without him, that's Josh McDaniels.

People don't like the facts, they think Josh McDaniels is good cause Tom Brady carried him in and cause Mac Jones looked average for a few weeks but he's never done with Detroit just did with Goff or what Shanahan has done with Purdy or what Minnesota got out of Darnold.

This is a Tom Brady offense that doesn't fit Drake Maye.
This is wrong, It was a tom Brady offense when we Had Tom Brady. And what era offense are you talking of? Every 5 years the O switched up. From 06 to 08, then the two TE with Gronk and Aaron, to Blount and White and Lewis.

Look what he got out of Cassel, Jimmy G. Give him a Moss and welker, you get something, Gronk and Aaron something else, great running game something different again. Welker, Amandoala , Hogan, Endlemen, Were all guys he developed.

What does Brady at 43 have anything to do with the present situation? Maye is 22.

The discussion is about Josh developing Maye. Brady didn't develop all by himself, he had coaches, mentors, and skills instructors. Maye will need the same. Can Josh oversee that development of Maye is the question.
Maybe…but keep him away from any decision making when it comes to personnel decisions.

he gutted the Denver and raiders rosters and brought in his yes men hometown players who were far less talented. They sucked and he got fired twice.

I watched Smith at wake Forrest. Had a friend who attended. Nobody in their right mind thought that was a good move by Denver to trade a next years first for him.

The pick Denver traded to Seattle was used to select Pro Bowler Earl Thomas.

we know all about pro bowl players slipping thru our fingertips in the draft.
