Johnny Football Texts Brady

Anaylsis paralysis....I see them throw spirals...hand size fretting is ridiculous

You know what they say about big hands...

Jackie MacMullan notwithstanding. Or maybe we should include her too?

9 7/8" is a big hand for a guy of Manziel's size. That measures out bigger than Bortles, Bridgewater, Carr and Boyd. The only real "top" prospect who measured larger was McCarrron, at 10".

Interesting. So the fretting about Brees having small hands (10 1/4") was just a bunch of hot air then? I mostly saw it on twitter so it wouldn't surprise me.

Found this and saw that Tony Romo has 8.9 inch hands

Running the Numbers: Is Quarterback Height an Important Trait?

9 inches tends to be regarded as the cutoff. Smaller than 9" is a big knock. Think Tyler Wilson last year who went undrafted. As Deus said, Manziel is regarded as having big hands.

The guy is under six feet and also has a size 15 shoe! That's insane and freakish. I know it's not right to make accusations or asumptions on PED's, but man that makes you wonder. Especially with the prevalence of PED's in sports. Or he's got mild acromegaly.

So I guess Johnny forgot about Brady referring to him as a turd?

This smacks of JFF running his full campaign gauntlet... he reached out to Brady, not vice versa, just associating yourself with trying to "learn" from a pro like Tom makes Manziel look better from a character standpoint. Brady never expected his texts, it's just a pre-draft ploy, probably from his handlers. This kid is a snake. Nice of Brady to be a gentleman and respond, but he already thinks he's a turd.

Nowhere in this article states that Brady thinks Manziel is a turd.

Makes your weener look smaller

Speak for yourself, nabwong.

And I haven't heard the term "weiner" since about 3rd grade, but it did give me a good chuckle. I'm going to use it tomorrow as my word of the day just to annoy the wife.

I'm far from being a good talent evaluator for NCAA prospects, but I can actually imagine Johnny Manziel coming in for a team like CLE and really adding something.

I didn't initially feel that way at the beginning of the season, but in my opinion he has started to at least attempt to make some better decisions. I don't think his football talent was ever in question. He can scramble and make some throws. Is he going to be the next Montana? Doubtful...but he may be able to provide a burst of energy and bring some confidence to whatever team takes a chance on him.

I would liken him to the kind of scrappy QB with wheels, kind of like Tony Romo was when he first came to DAL back in 05/06.

this kid reminds me of a Brett Favre/Philip Rivers type. overconfident fiery in your face QB will he ever be as good as does QB's I don't know

True you never know how a player will be comin from College to NFL and who they compare them to if they ever live up to expectations. One thing is certain some players have ala Tom Brady that can not be measured is their Heart. Fire within to excel, proof doubters wrong, chip on their shoulders etc. Now I'm not sayin JM will be next Brady just that with his attitude and wanting to consult with Brady and what I heard durin his Presser at Combine is that he looks like he will go extra mile to be his best. That's all you can ask for and see how it pans out from there.

I have smaller hands

Remember how poorly Brees played in the playoffs in Seattle last month? Many blamed his small hands for his inability to throw outdoors in the elements.

Well, Manziel's hands are even smaller. 9 7/8" hand length vs Brees' 10 1/4" hand length.

Anybody know how big Brady's hands are? The way he throws in bad weather, they've got to be huge.

Thats only 3/8" difference. A paper clip is 3/8" wide.

I cannot see that being that much of an issue.

If I was him I would text TB with, Tom I'll do anything not to end up in Jacksonville or Cleveland. Please tell me how to impress Bill O'Brien.

I think Manziel will fail in Cleveland.

I think Manziel will fail in Cleveland.

I think you're right which is better than Jax from a weapons perspective. Josh Gordon alone is better than their entire receiving core.

"Johnny Football" is going to be a bust and any team that spends a top pick on him is foolhardy. We already know he is incredibly immature but, even worse than that, his college skills simply will not translate into the NFL. All those highlights where he fakes and jukes and sidesteps 20 year old boys trying to tackle him will turn into "Johnny Football, you got JACKED UP!!" in the pros.

As a very minor point, once you get up into Bigfoot territory, your shoe size can depend a fair amount on width.

Depending on the brand of shoe, my shoe size can go anywhere from 13 to 15 (the latter for Nikes, which seem to be especially narrow).

Didn't we already address this issue when you brought it up a couple of pages ago, Salva?

I'm not sure that I'd agree that Tom Brady called Manziel a turd by reading this statement. It seems to have been a much broader generalization in my opinion. I don't see any proof of Tom saying "you're a turd," or "he's a turd."
