Jets have traded DL Leonard Williams to Giants for 2020 3rd and 2021 5th with a possibility of it becoming a 4th.

Remember when all the analysts praised the Jets for selecting Williams?! He sure became that game changer everyone was so sure he would become!!

at least he won't have to move

The draft is a crapshoot. (And the Jets stink). Episode 696.

Always one of those “wait till he gets going” guys. Looks like the Jets were done waiting.

Remember when they picked him in 2015, and the acclaim given to how it would create a vaunted trio alongside Wilkerson and Richardson. Not much return there in the grand scheme of things.

Good move. Wasn't going to be re-signed next year anyway. Decent return value for him that will hopefully help build an oline.

Good guy though. Wish him the best.

Tank trading with tank go figure.

I don't know how the Jets are going to re-sign any of their current players with the way this whole Kelechi Osemele fiasco went down.

Tanking for a QB

Not sure this is a tank trade.

He was gone after this year anyway. Likely getting an end of the 3rd round pick back.

Now we have an early 3rd rounder, plus a conditional 5th/4th. Pretty slick imo.

If Robby gets traded, now that may be a tank trade.

...which one's Thelma and which one's Louise?

KO wanted surgery after he was benched for a rookie. Guy knew Jets weren't gonna bring him back, so he decided to have surgery now. So he's good for his next team.

Loophole in the system. Sucks, but is what it is.

Gotta tank hard to beat the dolphins out for the #1 pick to draft Tua.

Right. They're not tanking though.
You can sugarcoat it all you want. The end result is you took the SIXTH pick in the entire draft and turned it into the something in the mid 80's next year, and and even lower pick in 2021. This isn't slick. This is what you call desperation.

I admire your tenacity during your 50 year rebuilding process, but the fact is, your once great hopes for this season is have turned to ashes and we aren't half way through the exercise. Better worry about whether Gase has permently scarred your ONCE promising QB, than some no name prospect that will end up on the Pats in a few year, assuming he's good enough and hasn't been damaged by his Jets experience.

It makes sense. He was a part of one of their previous five year rebuilding plans. Not the last five year plan rather the one before which started three to six years ago depending on how you look at it.

You see, to understand the Jete five year rebuilding plan you have to think of it as a revolving five years which remains fluid. Unlike chronological static plans theirs overlaps and reverses in a kind of an amoebic type of flow. If you're not careful it may look like multiple plans morphing into one singular cluster fluck or that they just suck but the truth is that it's a much much bigger picture than we're seeing here.

This plan is a continuation of a plan that started over fifty years ago and they have become exceedingly good at morphing or sucking. In fact they're sucking has recently elevated from ass causing fumbles to paranormal ghost induced interceptions in the last few weeks. I'm not sure of what they'll do next but one thing is clear, if any of the above wasn't, is that the Jete suck.
