Jets Confidential: The Jets Will Beat Banged Up Patriots

Re: Jets Confidential:The Jets Will Beat Banged Up Patriots

If the OL plays like it did last week we are in serious trouble. The Jets are going to blitz ALL DAY.

The D also has to step it up - screen passes to Washington are going to kill us.

Note to you: Tom Brady has an 85% completion rate against the Blitz and a 152 passing rating....WITH THIS SAME OL.. and you are afraid that they'll blitz???????? The only way they can stop this offense is if they can put massive pressure on the Pats rushing 4 and occasionally 5 men. That's it.

Look for Ryan to try and create overloads in one area, while leaving other areas relatively undefended. In that way he can create blitz like mismatches, while keeping at least 6-7 men back in coverage.

Now if I know this, don't you think the Pats are preparing for it??????

That is what I am thinking too..

I think BB will put the game into Brady's hands and let him throw hot and have WR run sight adjustment to beat the overload or pressure up the middle.

I expect that we will go no-huddle at strategic intervals during the game, if not the whole game, to keep up the pace. Let them blitz away non-stop and tire themselves out.

vs. Ravens in '07, we went no-huddle on the last few drives and you could see the difference, so I see this happening again.

We know Ryan will throw the house at Brady, so we make this work against his advantage.

Re: Jets Confidential:The Jets Will Beat Banged Up Patriots

Pats history has shown, for the most part, we play poorly against the worse teams and best against the better teams.. they rise to the level of competition..

Not only that, but they rarely, if ever, have two subpar performances in a row.

Banged Up?
You mean Mayo?

We have some awesome players right now...they're new but they have great potential.

Rex will understand in the first few quarters and then their defense will be picked apart in the 4th and then we'll eat 10 minutes off the clock rushing.

Re: Jets Confidential:The Jets Will Beat Banged Up Patriots

Lets face it - The Patriots won last week ONLY because of 3 things

1) TOM BRADY

2) BEN WATSON'S AMAZING CATCH

3) LEODIS McKELVINS BRAIN FART
Actually we dominated the game. Yards, Time of Possession, all that stuff, we just almost blew it based on red zone, the INT for TD and a few short yardage misses. We have to clean that stuff up for sure but make no mistake, the Patriots almost lost despite outplaying the Bills, it wasn't the Bills who lost despite outplaying the Patriots.

Re: Jets Confidential:The Jets Will Beat Banged Up Patriots

I don't think you want to wish for that. Our OL didn't exactly look stellar at picking up Buffalo's blitzes on Monday night.

Matt Light is the weak link on the OLINE....I watched the game again and he looks like complete crp at times. He struggled to force the pass rush wide and he was on the ground way too much. His footwork looks like it's regressed quite a bit. I know it's early in the season but thank goodness the Jets have no speed rushers.

I think the plan is to replace him with Vollmer next year. We'd have a small dead money hit (about $1.25M) but would save his $4.7M salary.

I honestly agree, and if you look at my posts, I've always said Kaczur is the better player.

That being said, Light was playing TE on most of those plays, but was trying to play LT while at TE. Its not surprising he got beat.

Don't forget those two bogus (Wilfork's for sure) penalties.
