Jeff Van Gundy trashes Wells Report

d rose FTW!!!
Damn I just saw that since I missed the ending transcribing that stuff... What an ending that was... Crazy shot by JR Smith, even crazier by Rose!!!

Anybody with a Twitter account should go and retweet Adam Schefter's tweets about Van Gundy and the NFL. People may not listen to Van Gundy but NFL people listen to Adam Scheffer. He's influential.

It's a true "Emperor has no clothes" moment. This whole thing is absurd. Why are the people running football trying to wreck football? That was as good a season and a Super Bowl as ever [well, maybe not as competitive a season. The cream is really rising to the top with the Broncos fade].

Ray, I think this is a clear case of insulation. The NFL execs are so insulated, they are so entrenched in a PR justice - react to the mob mentality, they will miss what the common man sees as obvious.

(1)Indy calls the league about inflation. (2) League calls Patriots to relay information. (3) League formally advises teams that balls will be checked exactly prior to kick off.

Allegation dealt with, balls will be as regulated, intergrity is maintained, all is good. That they went the other route is the mark of a group that is operating under a 'what will the media and mob think!!', living in an insulated bubble mentality.

Regardless of what one's feelings are about Van Gundy, his comment is absolutely 100% correct.

Why something so obvious could be so largely dismissed is, even for the simpleminded, inexplicable.

Because there is no leadership. That's the issue. No fear of God that spouting worthless opinions will get you a beatdown. If you had that, this deflate stuff would be absolutely nothing. Nothing. It's gone unchecked for too long now..

No leadership would be better. This clown has shown a lack of judgment from the get go. Ignoring player safety in the service of greed, coddling rapists and wife beaters while attacking people with the wrong color cleats.

Meanwhile the league is making money, so the loser teams figure why rock the boat since it's a socialist system anyway.

The patriots could easily be like the old yankees or canadiens if they kept all the money they generated and were allowed to buy whatever players they wanted. It's perverse.

Imagine if the colts and the jets met in the super bowl because the quality of play degraded that much. Not long ago that almost every Super bowl was a snoozer, or of worse quality than an average pats or seahawks game.

Lmfao, thanks for the disagree, I see where I stand

I hope you noticed I quickly (maybe before you responded) changed it to a Like.

I couldn't let even a Disagree stand, I've got at least two Dislikes from posters being funny/ironic.

"Whooooa Gundy!"

I hate that show sooo much. I remember having to suffer thru it growing up because my Dad loved the show.

Oh I see it now. Thanks bud lol. I don't care so much about Disagrees, Dislikes are annoying unless I posted a really strongly worded message of some kind and you truly dislike it. But, I don't think I've made many of those.

As an aside in light of this, if there is a mod around could you somehow get the disagree button moved to the far right? The last one? I hit it by accident many times myself it seems.

Always loved JVG.

send me 10 bucks and I'll un-dislike you, Ross...otherwise, well...

Goodell has made mountains out of molehills and molehills out of mountains, it's truly astounding that he's the commissioner and makes 44 mill a year

Van Gundy's point that it is ridiculous to claim that this was an independent investigation when Wells has been repeatedly paid by the NFL can not be stressed enough. How can anyone say differently with a straight face?

From a CNN article two years ago regarding the players lawsuit against the NFL, "High profile attorney Ted Wells, who's represented former **** Cheney adviser I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, among others, was observing Tuesday's arguments. Wells is one of the lead trial attorneys who will be representing the NFL should this case go to trial."
http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/09/health/nfl-lawsuit/

Wells is not an independent investigator. He has been paid millions by the league to make arguments on their behalf.
Goodell has stated over and over that Wells has "impeccable integrity. The guy is a criminal defense attorney! Isn't that an oxymoron? He is paid to lie and mislead on behalf of his client. For that matter does anyone have impeccable integrity? Is it human to have impeccable integrity?

This whole thing is so f'd up for so many reasons. You could write a book on its many flaws.

This whole investigation took place because the Patriots balls were supposedly two psi under pressure. Even Exponent's calculations (which they admit themselves are flawed because they relied on many unreliable data points) state that the balls on average were at worst just 3 tenths of a psi too low. The half time gauges used weren't even in synk within .3 psi. If Goodell and his minions and the idiots in Sports media remembered grade school level science, this would have been dismissed from the start.
