Jeff Triplette to ref Pats-Texans

Every week I'm disappointed in the officiating crew, but I realize there's almost a complete absence of competent crews out there. Triplett is decidedly not one of the few.

Can anyone name a crew they'd feel good about ahead of time? Doesn't matter. They all pretty much suck. Triplette's crew just happens to have a particular brand of "suck." Look, I don't mean to be unnecessarily cynical, but I believe it really doesn't matter.

Only 3 games this year a visiting team has had less than 65 penalty yards with Triplette's crew. Take away that 65 yards game and visiting penalty yards breaks down like this

Expect at least about 80-90 yards of penalties for the Pats and only about 20-30 for the Texans.

I would probably have to go back to the super bowl to see a game I thought was well refereed.

This season has been a total write off.

For us this year it's like a Boxe title fight from the challenger perspective. Don't let it go to the judges.

Hope you guys are ready to watch us get hit with 100+ yards of penalties because... that's happening.

Feel good about, not necessarily. Feel less wary of, sure. Of the 17 crews, some stand out as being much worse than the others. Anderson, Blakeman, Boger, Coleman, Corrente, Morelli, Steratore, Triplette are really bad, from my recollection. My opinion on Hochuli and Vinovich wavers, I've seen them be really bad and I've seen them call great games, so in a league with better officiating they'd probably make my list, but not with their current peers. So basically I think half just under half of the crews in the NFL are outright atrocities, and the rest are somewhere between "fine" and "bad but not a complete trainwreck".

Always reminds me of Ned Ryerson.

Triplette screwed us in the '05 playoff game and he'll screw us Sunday.

Of course, he's such a pathetic moron that it can be hard to distinguish his screwing us from his general incompetence.

Isn't Triplette the guy who threw a flag at Orlando Brown's eye?

he's worked a handful of pats road game in the last few years and doesn't seem biased so im going to hope for the best and chalk it up to road teams are usually less disciplined because of being on the road

..suddenly, a flock of defiant geese, honking wildly, descended upon Red Roger as he sat by the pond admiring his own reflection..."Oh No!" he cried..."my goose is NOT cooked...it's CRAZY...HALLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP!"...

subsequent literary entries include THIS gem from John Alldonne, famous Pats fan poet..ask not for whom the goose honks dear Rogelio and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee

The way this season is going with referees get ready to be called for face guarding again.
