Jeff Howe:Texans defense offers significant challenge for Patriots

No they don't, if Brisset that is the 3rd QB scored 27 points, by logic Brady will score at least 81 points.

Seriously now, if Solder gets to have an off day, Clowney can present problems, but they way our line is playing and with all the guys involved, Lewis, White, Blount, the receivers, Bennet, it's just too many weapons, they can't answer that.
But brissett put up 27 as much because of the d and st as the o.
His td drives were 21,22,47.

Now if Brady is given that field position we could score 50+ but regardless of field position we've should be at least high 20s low 30s. A lot depends on how much we need to score and how much we are protecting a lead and playing safe.

a decimated pats team produced a similar result in HOUSTON last year......pretty much identical defense......

fact is that the Texans are a bunch of chumps on the road

this is not one of those instances where things come full circle where a team has so many things going against them that its an advantage......fuk that crap

other points of interest:

Texans are 6-1 in the AFC South 3-6 outside
Texans are 2-6 on the road
Texans offense compares to the Browns, Rams, Jets statistically
On the road, Texans average 14.5 point for and 24.4 against....they basically average a 10 point loss per game

nuff said.......

Does anyone here actually believe that Clowney won't be completely shut down tomorrow? Anybody at all?

If NE does that, which they will, they will shred that defense with ease.

Here is a demonstration of what we can expect tomorrow night. NE is Nunes (in black) and Houston is Rousey:

I would like to get this game out of the way so we can eliminate the tedium of fans arguing whether we should take the game seriously...

That was ugly. Rousey's people should get their asses beat for putting into her head that she's a striker. Her boxing skills are crap and she's been demolished by the last two strikers she's faced.

To be honest, with how bad Houston's offense has been at times, 20 PPG allowed is pretty remarkable. I imagine they were on the field a lot and defending a lot of short fields.

AFC South

BTW, this past season, the Pats defense was on the field for 50 or so more plays than the texans (70 pass plays)

passing defenses are statistically similar with a larger volume for the pats .... prob due to score differential

stupid f*cking moron
what's a bigger difference?
Houston: 301 yards per game
New England: 326 yards per game

OR
Houston 20.1 points per game
New England: 15.6 points per game

Of course it's the points that go on the scoreboard and are by far most important.

Considering BOTH of them though has its value, though.

When you are great at limiting points despite giving up a fair amount of yards, you may excel in situational defense... being very stingy in the red zone for example. But other aspects of the game as well are typically helping a great deal to keep down the scoring in those cases. You are winning the field position battle through excellent special teams and/or an offense that doesn't turn the ball over very often in bad field positions.

Houston has very good defensive personnel. They get a lot of stops. But their offense and special teams do not help them out as much, and (I presume, though I haven't looked at data) that their situational football awareness and execution is lacking, relative to the Patriots.

I doubt they can score more then 20, and I doubt we get held under that #

no really.......the texans gave up 2 fewer yards than the pats and lost by 27 and the texans best chance would have been an attempt at a 53 yard FG

the texans absolutely suck on the road and they suck outside their division....while guys like mercilus and clowney are rising to the top of their games (neither scares me)

we are talking about a defense that generated fewer sacks and fewer turnovers than the pats and that includes a 7 game stretch where the pats defense only created 2 turnovers

I am not afraid.......not one bit.....Pats show up to play and I know they will, and we will be relaxing by mid 2nd quarter.......no need to get fancy........just execute

Cat Zingano would have destroyed her as well, if she hadn't gone full ****** at the start of that fight.

I still remember people calling Ronda "a once in a lifetime fighter" not too long ago, and thinking that she could beat Cyborg. Such silliness.

I thought the article was a good X/O read the headline not withstanding.

My first thought is: The Texans D has to carry the load and must be the reason they are in the Postseason (well besides the AFC South division). Their offense is, at best, marginal. Defense needs to win all the matchups consistently to have a chance.
