I would assume they knew of the 10 min delay, and didn't release the balls yet, or they released the balls and they were taken to field to wait

I think the leak is to see if someone guilty gets scared and starts talking. I call BS on this. First thing they should investigate is how the 'leaks' are coming.

What's crazy is that this is Day #8 of the NFL leaks, and then they say they "cannot comment on an ongoing investigation".

You cannot make this stuff up.

More like: "Cannot comment on ongoing investigation (except for leaking apparently incriminating details to tabloids, enemies of the team and rivals). Any mitigating factors or evidence are the exclusive property of the league office".
