Jason Bay

You listened to the big show yesterday didn't you?

Either that or you are in fact the Big O.

And I'll take a guy who puts up "only" 32/107 on my team any day of the week and twice on Sunday, brilliant logic on your part.

Let the guy get to free agency and he's as good as gone.

But hey, you didn't negotiate with him during the season and "overpay" now did you, so you've got that going for you.

Just do me a favor; no b!tching from you next year when Bay is patroling left field for the Yankees and we've got some stiff out in left field that the Red Sox signed for short money.

And you are 100% correct, Theo is a genius, I am sure he'll solve the left field problem just as well as he's solved their shortstop hole for what, five effin years now?

What a overblown bag of wind you are.

Whoa buddy - easy on the righteousness.

Someone who can't comprehend why the Sox aren't signing Bay right now should be pretty careful about that glass house he lives in when he's questioning the intelligence of others.

So why don't YOU think the Sox haven't signed Bay - or even seem all that interested in sititing down with him just now?

They have tried to sign him; they low balled him and he and his agent said no thanks. I am sure the uncertain ecomnic climate will be the excuse as to why they did not address this in the off season.

They extended Lester, Youk and Pedrioa before they got to free agency, but they've decided they are not going to do the same with Bay for whatever reason.

They should have addressed this in the off season; they knew what they had in this kid. He's got that classic slight uppercut swing that is tailor made for Fenway and he's a decent enough outfielder to cover left field in Fenway as well, the perfect man for the job.

He will be THE top free agent outfielder at the end of the season and he will get big money from someone else.

The Yankees need a left fielder with Damon and Shemp both in the final year of their contracts, so my guess is that is where he'll end up.

Besides, with BO as president, I am 1000% sure the economy will be back on track by spring training 2010 if you listen to all of the BS he's spouting, can't the Red Sox brass see this?

I mean, when has he ever made a promise he hasn't delivered on, he walks on water the last I heard.........

I can't tell if you're serious or not - but OB seems to be setting expectations very low... and is certainly not making a 1000% promise that the economy will be recovered by 2010

Aside from that I too would love to have a 32/107 player on my team every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I just wouldn't want to pay him as if he were a 50/170 guy.

That's the "brilliant logic" that I'd guess the Red Sox are using - though I don't think they're expecting fans to be as cautious with their money as they are.
