Jaguars have penchant for claiming former Patriots on waivers. Did it again today. Claimed QB Mike Kafka.

I think they have a very smart owner and he is doing everything he can to learn and emulate the best run franchise in the league. This is just one small way of doing it at the ground level.

Whether they stay in Jax or not one way or the other that owner is going to make that team successful.

Now if the Jags could figure out a way that Pats cut Brady, Wilfork, Gronk, Hernandez, and a few other starters; they might have the makings of a really good team.

We've finally figured out Bbelichick's plan for Tebow. He's going to cut him in a few days, so that the Jaguars will pick him up, despite the earlier claims by their new GM, and BB will have done a solid for Urban.

Stealth move, BB!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

not sure a rebuilding franchise could come up with many other better strategies

Gotta figure at cutdown day, the phone lines between area code 508 and area code 904 will be humming and possibly picking up a 6th or 7th rounder or two for 2014....

Poor Jaguars. I'm sort of pulling for them. They're starting over from scratch but are trying to do it the right way instead of making a short-term splash like the New Jersey Green Beans.

even all these years later I STILL love the random Kafka excerpt...

"When Gregor Samsa woke up one morning from unsettling dreams, he found himself changed in his bed into a monstrous vermin." With this startling, bizarre, yet surprisingly funny first sentence, Kafka begins his masterpiece, The Metamorphosis. It is the story of a young man who, transformed overnight into a giant beetlelike insect, becomes an object of disgrace to his family, an outsider in his own home, a quintessentially alienated man. A harrowing -- though absurdly comic -- meditation on human feelings of inadequecy, guilt, and isolation

and, if anything, the past 48 hours have been hauntingly Kafka-esque...

It'll eventually come out that Tebow is an alien sent here to study us.

Don't blame the messenger. By the way, these guys were spotted near the practice field today:

heh...Letterman just did a couple Tebow jokes in his opening monologue...

yeah..."what circus??!!!??"

Most teams keep 4 QBs on their 90-man. There was no reason to waive Kafka when Tebow was signed.
Another questionable move by Bill in an off-season full of them.

If the trend continues, the Pats may have trouble getting their
good cuts to the practice squad.

...Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said that new waiver pickup Mike Kafka has "just as good an opportunity" to win the starting job as Gabbert and Henne, according to ESPN's Paul Kuharsky...
