The thing I like the most about Polk is his toughness. He goes after the ball, instead of waiting for it. I want receivers that play the way Steve Smith played, regardless of their size they see it as their ball, and you aren’t getting it. Because of their recent failures people talk about how weak their roster is, and that’s understandable, but if they all play with that mentality, where you make the opponent earn every inch they get, then they can outplay expectations, and develop into a much tougher and better team. And while I definitely want to see fewer penalties, and much better execution this season, what I want to see under Mayo, more than any other quality, is a much meaner, tougher, nastier team. And that can start with the offense running the ball down opponents throats, and receivers outfighting defenders for the ball, and blocking their asses off. I can handle another losing season, I can’t abide by a soft team. A new mentality first, then the wins will come,

Agreed! Meaner, nastier team already exists on the defensive side.. now let's get to to exists on offense.. I want rham bull dozing would be tacklers, I want polk and baker getting in guys faces after rhythm make a play.. tougher on offense.. dictate, instead of being dictated on.

Ladd is a good player but he's a slot receiver like others have stated, kind of redundant with Demario Douglas already there.

They should have taken a blue chip offensive tackle with two left on the board... but I've beaten that horse to death.

This guy is going to be a star WR. He has it all, speed, smarts, great route runner great separation and can play slot and outside.

Not knocking Polk, but talent wise McConkey is in a different tier.

You seem to be missing the fact we got Polk and Baker by trading down. Is it your contention he will out produce both of them ?

The Patriots and the fans will regret a lot of things about this draft and, especially, their pathetic FA period....I think so anyway. It is hard to tell how the draft will work out until we see these guys in training camp.

Will "Slow" Polk be able to get open? It seems that way so far, but let's see how he does in camp.

Will Baker be the Headline Maker, in the wrong way, i.e. another Jack Jones or worse? We will see.

How is he a “Slow” Polk ? He ran a 4.52, Puka Nacua ran a 4.62, you wouldn’t take him on your team. I would take all of these guys. And all of them have no issues getting open deep. Polk reminds me SO much like Keenan Allen.

Mcconkey is a slot receiver, and they are already set at that spot with Douglas and Bourne, they needed WR’s that can play outside the hashes.

Bourne isn't just a "slot receiver." In fact, Bourne lines up much the way Edelman did after Edelman broke out

Things are going to be very interesting if Bourne shows up healthy to camp.

The Chargers WR situation is definitely worse than the Pats, as of today. There aren’t many teams in the NFL with that dubious distinction, but the Chargers are one of them.

The other INTERESTING bit it the rumors around Darrishaw and Wirfs. If EITHER of them were added, that changes the whole dynamic of the offense even more than it already has.
If I'm Wolf, I'm definitely what it would take. I could see Tampa looking to add a WR like Thornton (low risk/high reward). Especially since Godwin and Evans are so old. The Bucs DID add Sterling Shepard, but he's missed 36 games over the last 5 years. And what he did play last year (142 snaps in 15 games), was actually less than Thornton did for the Pats (224snaps in 9 games).

Separation in college does not guarantee separation in the NFL. The NFL has bigger, stronger, quicker, faster and more talented players. Polk ran a pedestrian 4.52s 40 and declined to participate in the 7 cone and shuttle (very telling).

During OTAs he looked slow to me, but I am not an NFL evaluator. Still, I have not seen a quote from any NFL commentator (former scout, player, or coach) saying that Polk was getting good separation during OTAs or minicamp. If you have some, I would like to see them, because I looked and found none.

Hand size and correlation to catching balls… is there one?

I don’t recall a preponderance of drops by Tyquan in college or his limited time here. I remember one drop as egregious, but watching a single tweet on loop isn’t the same as a reoccurring problem.
