Adam Schefter reports on ESPN

Jets get…. Aaron Rogers, Pick#15 & 170
In 2023

Packers get…. Pick#13 & 42, & 207 in 2023 plus a conditional 2024 2nd round pick that becomes a 1st if Rogers plays 65% of the plays this year.

The Jets blinked.

I guess since the "Know-It-Alls" have spoken and declared that the Patriots have the "WORST" QB in the division and they are "Going to finish in 4th", no one should bother watching the draft, training camp, pre-season or the season. Just call up the NFL and declare that the Pats forfeit the season and will take the #1 over-all in 2024.

Considering the S%$T show with Patricia and Judge, the fact that Mac still completed over 65% of his passes is pretty astounding to me. Especially with Agholor and Parker out there essentially handing the ball to the other team on what, 4 or 5 occasions? Add to that, I would have expected Mac to take more than 34 sacks with the crappy OT play all season. Considering how bad it was, I would have though closer to 51.

I remember people saying that we had the worst QB in the division in 2002 after the Pats traded Bledsoe to Buffalo. The Jets had their QB of the future in Pennington taking over and Miami had the venerable Jay Fiedler.

Too many people have forgotten just how important GOOD coaching is and how it affects play..
Fair points.
The Jete did get better though. Let's see what moves we make

While that may be true, is anyone sold on the others ? The entire group, including backups, has the same number of SB rings as Trent Dilfer.
Not sold on Tua/Rodgers per se...But Tua in that system is better than Mac, and if Rodgers has his head screwed on is obviously better...If you told me Tua came back to earth and Rodgers gave up, I would believe you though

Off the table? You have it backwards now... the guaranteed wins have flipped in the wrong division. Take the quarterbacks out of it, the Jets are the better team. And now they have the MUCH BETTER quarterback too.
How do I have it backwards?

The Pats have owned the Jets. Thats OVAH.

Yup, this makes the Jets better in 2023. The risk is more about giving up picks for potentially only one year, then you're back in a situation where you need another QB for 2024, but now don't have a high first rounder to A) Draft one or B) Make another trade for a vet. If they win the Super Bowl this year? Then who cares, they'll take it. But anything less is good for Woody Johnson's ticket sales and not much else.

We'll see how it goes.

Some of you guys need the Pats to lose. I don't get it, truthfully. Y'all want them to be bad so you can be right? It's easy to see which of you "fans" are only fans of winning and which are really Patriots fans. Sad.

Anyway, here's our girl again, being funny this time, because only the Jete could give up what they did for a 1 year rental with a guy that's a narcissistic lunatic.

This is the franchise that PASSED on drafting Dan Marino!

Draft picks are pretty useless to them most of the time, they converted a pick swap and picks next year for a proven commodity.

Much as I hate the Jets, If I were their GM I make this trade 10/10 times.

The Jets had a legendary draft last season.

All 3 players are all pros.

Amazing how Ben Volin has an article ready immediately after the trade to let us know the Pats will be finishing 4th in the AFC East.

It helps when you have 2 in the top ten of a draft. Patriots only two top ten picks in this millennium were Seymour and Mayo. You're really not supposed to miss on the top ten, which is funny because it's busting on three straight top-4 QB's that led to this move being necessary to begin with.

Completely agree.

But you still need to pick the Players.
They have had some horrendous drafts but last year was franchise altering for any team.
I have to give Credit where it’s due, no matter how much I dislike that team.
I remember Martin running over us and Keyshawn and Chrebet giving us fits.
This is the closest they have been to that kind of team.

Don Lemon booted out and now this.

A sad day.

It's totally stupid to do a pick swap and send along a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year that can become a 1st based on playing time, and pay him the better part of $60M just to hope the 39 year old guy who spent four days in a cave trying to figure out if he still wanted to play football will still want to play football after seeing how da Jete OL performs.

Of course many people here prefer to project their misery onto the Patriots instead of admiring the Jets stupidity, but there's no accounting for taste (or the lack of it).
He's a year removed from back to back MVP's. Even if he's 80% of what he typically, it's a bigger move than the Jets could make with any draft pick. People overvalue the **** out of draft picks. They dropped 2 spots in the first. That's negligible. A first and a second or two seconds is fine compensation for Rodgers.

By Punky, it was fun watching you fck up while it lasted. Looks like you'll end up back in utah with your mother and her friend.

People sit here 4 years later and still dont understand the value of an elite quarterback...its hilarious. If Rodgers shows up to work and plays to his ability, they are driving the picks to the airport themselves

It's so dumb. We literally beat the Jets twice exclusively because Zach Wilson was the worst QB in the league. Average wins them those games. Rodgers is more than average. We traded a first rounder for Cooks once. Rodgers is either going for that plus a second or less.

The cap money moving from the Jets to the Packers is more significant than the draft picks. The Packers can fill some big needs over the next few years with that dough.

True, the Jets are now way out of cap compliance. They need to make some moves to get back under.
