Isaiah Wynn

Wynn (& Onwenu) actually didn't start playing yesterday until the Thanksdad & Cachoo ****-ups on consecutive plays during the 2nd quarter... Before that game-changing event, the OL had been Herron - Thanksdad - Andrews - Karras - Cachoo.

It shows how moronic the staff is. Why pull Herron then. It was Cajuste who whiffed on the other side at RT. Just play Onwenu at RT and keep Herron at LT. No need to bench Herron then (and then put him back in after Wynn was posterized).

Pregame warmups made it pretty clear that it was a preplanned rotation, likely due to health issues. They didn't want Wynn, Onwenu, or Herron to go wire to wire. The absurdly low offensive snap count was helpful in that regard.

I hear you. The absurdly low offensive snap count shows how many 3 and out duds they had in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. This reminds me of the 2006 Colts-Pats playoff game the Colts won, where the same oc left the Patriot defense out to dry that day and ultimately lose the game due to defense being constantly on the field as the Pats offense gave them no time to rest.

I've been a huge Wynn defender...but he has been really bad this year. Terrible

Wynn got bulldozed again yesterday. 2nd week in a row for him.

This guy is laughing all the way to the bank getting his option picked up for no reason.

I would try him at lg. we owe him $10m next year so gotta try and find some way to utilize him if he doesn’t turn it around at lt

Wynn has definately not played to the same level he has played up to in the past...

don't know if he's nursing an unreported injury... if its just poor coaching on the o-line... or if his past injury history has just slowed him down to the point where he isn't effective anymore... maybe one of the three, maybe a combo of all three... or its something entirely different... doesn't really matter...

overall its disappointing as I had higher expectations for him... at this point i wish we had declined his option and picked up Sony's...

Bust is a strong word.

Wynn has contributed in the past.

Dissapointment though.

He is a bust. Especially when you take into consideration he was drafted 23rd overall in a LOADED draft offensively. The next 17 picks after Wynn was drafted, 5 of them have become Pro Bowlers on Offense.

He's short, stubby, injury prone, and fat. He is going to get Mac killed. FIRE our chief college scout

Wynn's career in the NFL:

He was placed on injured reserve on September 1, 2018. Without Wynn, the Patriots won Super Bowl LIII against the Rams 13-3.

Wynn entered the 2019 season as the Patriots starting left tackle. In Week 2, Wynn suffered a toe injury in the Patriots 43–0 shutout win against the Miami Dolphins. On September 17, 2019, the Patriots placed Wynn on injured reserve as a result of the toe injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins. He was designated for return from injured reserve on October 30, 2019, and began practicing with the team again.
The Patriots opened the 2020 with Wynn as their left tackle, but in week 6 he started at left guard for the first time in his pro career. He was placed on injured reserve on November 28, 2020 after suffering a knee injury in Week 11.The Patriots exercised the fifth-year option on Wynn's contract on May 3, 2021, which guarantees a salary of $10.413 million for the 2022 season.

A career full of injuries and missed time.

Did his physical tools jump off screen?

6'2. Very short for a "Left Tackle"
33 1/2 Arm Length. Extremely short.
No Length for a position which requires length to prevent longer ends from shedding his blocks

Meanwhile those drafted right after he went

Calvin Ridley- 1374 Yards and 9 TD Last Year
DJ Moore- 1200 Yards Last Year
Lamar Jackson- NFL MVP 2 years ago
Nick Chubb- 34 TDs in 3 seasons
Courtland Sutton- 1100 Yards in 2019

Yep... Wynn should've replaced Thanksdad at LG and NOT Herron at LT.

Ugly performance...just terrible...
