I thought it might be one of the browser extentions I run that's causing it, but I opened up pages here with a fresh/clean profile in Edge and still got it. Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to fix it, or is this how YouTube embeds appear to everyone.

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

YouTube has a block that offers the user the ability to "Allow Embed" - if that's disabled, it returns the above. There's no way around it, unfortunately.

You tube did it. Or maybe YouTube paid Ian off.

You want me to rough em up? *taps fist*

Here's a "workaround" from YouTube to show the thumbnail image but it's a bit of extra effort to post it's why I haven't bothered with it.

Change qLBGJPw-dSM to whatever the video ID is for your video

Are you seeing "Video Playback Disabled On Other Websites", or are you seeing "Error 153 Video Player Configuration error"?

If it is the former, that's because the NFL isn't allowing videos to be viewed on sites such as this one, and has instructed YouTube to make it possible to only view them on YouTube.

If it is the latter, from what I have read it has something to do with the drivers for your graphics card needing to be updated.

But now I am reading that it can be a YouTube embedding problem as well.

I have had the issue and rebooting my laptop fixed it - but only temporarily.

lol I was just looking at that Stack Overflow thread (and posted it before I noticed someone else had ).

How far down this rabbit hole have you gone in terms of the solutions there?

The videos are now useless, largely, unless you click on them. It is a real bummer. I wonder what options there are to ameliorate that (E.g., auto-display title at least or something). [Edit : just saw nice post by sb1 showing a nice little workaround]

ChatGPT, told me "Other forums fixed it by allowing a referer on YouTube iframes." Take that for what it's worth I am a developer, and know that may well be a trash diagnosis. I'm not a web dev I'm a data person, so I'm useless with things like this.

I haven't looked at it, although it is annoying. There's a plugin installed that handles the embed, but just outputs the same code YouTube uses from the URL pasted in the window. And if the Video author on YouTube has blocked embeds, that's generally where the issue lies. This will probably be something I'll dig into over the offseason to find a workaround, but I agree, it's aggravating.

I think that's better than nothing, as at least people would know what the content was. The 153 error may as well be a Rick Roll. -You don't know what the heck you are getting into.

It sounds super annoying. Thanks for all your efforts!
