Won't be long until those are ripped apart by the "stats don't tell the whole story" crowd chime in...

Very true, and those would be people who didnt watch the team before 2001

Basically, he is far from done as a player. But based off his stats as a Patriot, i just don't see him as a 'lock' to get in. He might, but it will probably be a long time from now. I would think Willie Mac, Ty Law, and Tedy would go in before Sey. Even Chris Slade had more sacks than Seymour, for those who are so into sack totals

Anybody voting no in this poll is WILDLY in denial and, I think, being a little throw-him-under-the-bus-as-soon-as-he's-gone. Come on, people. Richard Seymour as HOF Patriots is an absolute no-brainer. Your argument is a non-starter. Get real, wake up and anything else like that. Good God.

Agreed. Seymour was a three-time First-team All-Pro selection while wearing the Patriots uniform. Off the top of my head I would guess only John Hannah has more.

For the Pats, yes. He was a key lynchpin to the Pats superbowl dynasty from 01-04. And he has played at a very high level since, been to 5 stright pro bowls, etc. Seymour contributed a lot while he was here. Let's not forget that.

Hey guys, it's my first post.
Anyway, you make some good points. Big Sey just might have to wait a while.

Welcome to the Board. A thick skin is useful, but I don't think you said anything particularly dumb, so fuhgeddaboutit.

As for Seymour, is he a lock like Brady is a lock? No, no one is.

Do I think he'll go in pretty quickly? Yep, not just on the basis of his stats but because of the intimidation factor he brought to the table as well as his leadership in those big years. All in all, I'd rather see Rodney get in before him.

yes for me

He'll probably get in, but not a lock.

I may or may not be speaking for RayClay, but $eymour shouldn't get in the Pats HOF until Houston Antoine (or Julius Adams) gets in the HOF.
