What if Brady said...Coach, 2 more years and I'm done.
He has a lovely wife, kids, enough money, and he has taken one hell of a pounding lately.
(maybe Giselle said...2 more years and you're done)
When was the last time he said he was playing into his 40's?
Just to add emphasis, Edelman is a punt returner who was his best receiver.... Other than Edleman, he was throwing to guys stuck in molasses. Maybe I should've been out there. So he can make me look great.
You forgot the worst part. Edelman would be concussed.Put noodle arm Peyton on our Patriot team and Brady on last year's stacked Denver offense.
With nobody open Peyton would of been wilting and quitting and pouting his way to a -7-9 season with us, and Tom would of won his 4th ring with Denver's O making Seattle's "almighty D" look foolish.
Don't doubt me.
Like 35 of Peyton's 55 TD's were five to ten yard dump offs that someone else not named Peyton took sixty yards to the house. Give him a trash O-line, a smurfs, two injured rookies and Blount, and see how far Peyton gets anyone.
Tom Brady will "accept backup status" the day I'm coronated as the King of England.
There will be 1000 occurances between now and 2016 that will have more impact on the assessment in 2016 than all of the combined knowledge and speculation today.
I think you may be misunderstanding the meaning of "accept" here. I believe the intended definition is that Brady would come to recognize that the decision for him to be a backup QB is a valid or correct decision. I reiterate, without the slightest doubt, that there's no way that's happening. What choice would Brady have if he's under contract?
At the time that Brady signed that last contract the argument was that it was a phony number and would be renegotiated later. The article is just a rehash of that same stance.
I think it would be great if Brady played for the low number that his contract will offer him. The talk at the time was that it was Brady's idea to take a team friendly deal and he willingly signed it.

I can only conclude that you responded to my post without reading it. "Accept" in the original context implies agreement. Being forced to "accept" the decision is not what was originally intended. I don't know how to explain the difference to you any more clearly than that.My question was what choice does Brady have? Is he going to simply walk away from the team because he's not the starter or not getting a reworked deal?
I agree that most players have a hard time accepting that they're team doesn't want them anymore, but it really isn't up to them. That's why Montana wore a Chiefs uniform.
