"Iffy" fine for Moss...$20k

This fine has been rescinded.

Let's do an experiment: YOU go on TV and criticize YOUR employer. Then come back and report back how cost you.

The first amendment says the government can't punish you for your speech. But the government didn't fine Moss, his employer did. You do the same thing (unless you are employed by the state or federal government) and odds are you will be fired for cause.

Nor did the government fire the cheerleader that has been recently discussed ad nauseam her employer did.

Likewise, when country radio stations stopped playing the Dixie Chicks to punish them for their anti-war stance, it was 1st amendment issue.

Freedom of speech is only a concept when it applies to the government trying to shut you up.

Wrong. Moss' employer did NOT punish Moss. Moss' contract is with the Patriots.

Saying that there were some iffy calls is making a blanket statement. And it happened to have bee FACT. Especially since he goes on to say that its part of life. As in, there is no point *****ing about it.

Actually, odds are NOT that you'd be fired for cause unless there is specific language in the employees handbook stating such.

Fact is that Goodell is an arsehole and needs to be canned. He's hurting this league more than helping it.

If this is true, great. Where did you see that it had been rescinded?

Moss fine rescinded by NFL

Patriots.com has learned that the NFL is rescinding its $20,000 fine of New England's Randy Moss.

The league originally fined Moss for comments he made after the Patriots lost to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. Following that game, Moss told a group of reporters, "There were some real iffy calls out there."

That prompted league officials to issue the fine, but a Patriots source says that ruling has since been reversed by the NFL's Ray Anderson.
