I recall in the 24 hours following the draft there was mistaken speculation that Epenesa had signed with the Pats then. Apparently it was just a tryout or invite to rookie minicamp. Bottom line, he has been on the team's radar for a while.

Camp fodder to take Armstead's spot until/if he returns, and also to help lessen the number of reps Wilfork and Kelly take? Insurance in case one or more of those three can't go? I don't know much about him, maybe one of the Draft Forum gurus can fill us in.
