Besides scoring more points than the other team, because you know someone will say it

Discuss and if you have any other choices, please state them.

Sacks/qb pressure, and turnovers.

I think it will come down to red zone success. The offense seems to be clicking a little more but they don't have the red zone down. I expect red zone success to determine the outcome. Because both teams are going to drive the ball down the field, but who comes away with Tds instead of FG's.

Turning the ball over kills your chances of winning. Especially against the good teams.

i voted for "other". If the Pats are to win, the key stat is...to score more points than the Dirty Birds

Keeping Ryan to under 300 yards. Given the Falcons difficulty moving the ball on the ground of late, if he is successful moving the ball through the air (using any TE or WR or combination of both), then the game becomes a shootout. Asking rookie receivers to carry the load in hostile territory under those circumstances will be asking a lot. Keep the passing damage to a minimum and the Pats have options when something doesn't work against the Falcons.

Going out on a limb and guessing points scored vs points allowed?

Time of possession and 3rd-down conversions. In a rare occurrence for the Pats, IMO they are facing an offense that can potentially outpace them offensively man for man, so clock control will be on the side of the Pats if they can sustain long, methodical drives.

Contributing factors to the win
  • Keep Julio Jones to 120 receiving yards (or less) and 1 TD 108 yds, 0 TDs
  • Win the turnover battle Pats +1
  • Have our running game get 120 yards (or more) 132 yds, 4.3 ypc
  • TB throw for 300 plus yards 316
  • Red Zone Defense 1-6
  • Red Zone Offense 2-3

Non-Contributing factors to the win
  • Allow their running game to get over 100 yards 58 yds, 3.9 ypc
  • Win time of possession by 4 or more minutes 30:39 to 29:21
  • 3rd down D 6-14
