Obviously, some won't be and some a bit latere project to be all-pros, for example Bower last year.In the top 10 of R1? Yes. You are confused about this?
After watching Allen and other opposing QBs sit cozy in the pocket and seeing this team struggle against bad OLs like Indy and Jacksonville, someone like Carter would be very intriguing if staying put.Good point. Hunter, Carter or Graham would be great to walk away with. I'd be thrilled with any of the 3.
Just the potential of what Hunter can do is alluring. He could easily be bust or turn into the first NFL player to be both a pro bowl CB and pro bowl WR.
Kinda ironic that the wide receivers you cite as examples were never know to be divas or arrogantWho cares about Divas. If they can get open and catch the ball, that’s all we care about. We’re not running a choir boy practice here. Most great WRs exude confidence and arrogance; accept this and embrace it.
As for Edelman, Givens, Welker, Amendola I could show you a lot more success stories of players drafted in the top 5 overall: Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Larry Fitzgerald, Jamar Chase.
Lastly, those guys you listed Edelman Givens Welker Amendola ….they had BRADY. The greatest QB of all time. Maye is not Brady!!! And to expect him to turn water into wine like Brady did is unrealistic and unfair to his development.
There is a 6’5 X Wide Receiver in the draft who moves like a slot guy…draft him and reap the rewards
Stop focusing on particular positions and focus on this team’s needs. There are plenty of players near the top of the draft (especially if they trade down). The Pats have two positions where they are definitely all set - #1 CB and QB. Hunter appears to be a redundancy to one of the two positions the Pats don’t need help.
McMillan says hiThis team shouldn't be drafting for needs, they have needs everywhere...BPA other than QB. The draft is the best place for a NFL team to get top end talent, we are seeing fewer and fewer impact FAs at important positions and half of half of the league is in on them, so that is a player's market. It takes Team interest, player interest, and a contract to make a FA work.
In FA we should be focused primarily on replacing fringe NFL guys with league average guys....that alone will improve the quality of the roster. I would rather overpay a bunch of league average guys by 10% than try and blow the load on the couple of top tier players that maybe available.
There are probably 5ish guys in this draft that are true high end talent, we need one of them....and the fact is two of those will be CBs; two are front 7, and 1 is a RB. There are no Blue Chips LTs or WRs in this draft (with Hunter apparently wanting to be a CB fulltime, with some WR time).
Hunter may improve two positions, but it is also two positions that are weakened if he gets hurt, so that is a double edged sword. If he wanted to play WR full time I would probably be in on him, he is just faster/more explosive/better ball skills than anyone we have, maybe anyone in the draft.
If we end up at two and we don't want Hunter, we should look to trade back no further than 6, get whatever extra picks we get, and pick from whatever remains of the Blue Chips.
This team needs talent.

It all depends on our draft position and FA. If we are at 3rd position I would take Hunter with no hesitation ( I hope we will be able to sign Cam Robinson, Holand, Nick Bolton or maybe Higgins ).Differences between OL are slender so I believe there will be a chance to grab someone at the end of 1st or in 2nd .
Different story is if we are at 2nd. Let's trade down a bit, grab extra picks and take Graham ( with Barmore's unclear future DL is a nagging problem ) and then try to pick Burden. Of course our scenarios are based on picks we get.
I am not a fan of taking Carter because I am not sure he can play a full time LB or Edge. McMillan is interesting however I prefer a speedy receiver who can create position and separation.
The bottom line is to find eventually a starters not only situational players.
I'm sick of these contested catch guys. We've had too many of them, to no avail. Just get someone who can get open, and catch the ball.My concern with MacMillan is separation. You can’t throw contested balls all day in the NFL. At this point I have come to the conclusion that I would take either Hunter or Burden to help at WR.
McMillan running a 4.5+ sec 40 yard dash?? Very risky pick for a top 10 guy. 4.5 sec guys can work out, but a lot of them bust.McMillan says hi
McMillan is 6’5! He moves like a slot receiver. He has hands like glue. His YAC is fantastic. He has underrated acceleration and gets open all the time. His game tape is incredible.I'm sick of these contested catch guys. We've had too many of them, to no avail. Just get someone who can get open, and catch the ball.

Hunter at 4.2 to 4.3 sec is a world better.

I would suggest that the man who rarely, if ever, missed with a top 10 pick, would likely trade down a couple of picks and draft Graham.
There is much, much less risk with a DL than with a WR or CB.
I think Tet will be successful as his size and ability in the red zone will be a huge asset.McMillan is 6’5! He moves like a slot receiver. He has hands like glue. His YAC is fantastic. He has underrated acceleration and gets open all the time. His game tape is incredible.
He is a top 5 prospect….not some middling 2-3rd round prospect we have drafted in the past.
