If Brady wins a 5th ring before he retires, how long...

Remember, I'm not saying that's my opinion. I think ya have to wait a while until after retirement to put things in perspective.

I'm saying public opinion is around #3 or so. Google "top 10 QBs of all time" and look through the lists. NESN obviously had TB as #1, but that was the only one I saw. If you see more, I'm guessing they change results based on IP address.

If I was forced to give my opinion, you guys would tear me to shreads. I'd take into account: coaches, competition, dramatic rule changes in the game, era, physicality of the game, how the team performs when the player is out (suspended) and so on...

Which is why when discussing best evers, I think letting some time pass after retirement allows for putting things in perspective, while also allowing for current hype to die down.

He's obviously a great though.

He's going to pass the all time wins record ( regular season and playoffs) Wins record this season and will be the only QB with more than 200 wins. He will pass the regular season wins record next season and will almost certainly become the only QB in history with over 200 regular season wins in the next couple of seasons. He already owns the playoff wins record and is tied for Super Bowl wins record at four, and he's the only QB with any real chance of breaking that record right now, and could possibly end up with 30 or more playoff wins by the time he's done, and no one will ever touch any of those marks. He also has the best winning % of any QB with more than 100 wins and it isn't even close, as well as the best TD to interception rate of any QB. He also owns the marks for most appearances and win in conference championships. You can talk all day about what other fans think but the truth is in the accomplishments and it's not even close, and any discussion that has Manning in the top 5 is deeply flawed as he required a 3 game playoff run by the Denver defense, when he never threw a TD pass just to get to .500 in the playoffs for his career, and he spent his entire career playing on #1 and #2 seeds and was almost always playing at home, as well as playing indoors for most of his career. The haters can keep hating all they want but the facts and accomplishments drown out their ignorant bile when all is said and done. Brady is the GOAT, period, no matter what a nation of douchebag crybaby fans think.

I liked the new wave movement of the 80s much more than the hair bands, but I've certainly listened to my share. No reason to be embarrassed about that, particularly since there wasn't a ton of other options at the time! I bet you've got some great stories.

"A Moon Shaped Pool" received excellent reviews on a widespread level, as almost every Radiohead release has since OK Computer. That said, I prefer the sound of "In Rainbows" above all else.

Speaking of post-1990 or so, it just doesn't seem like there were nearly as many consistently impressive bands recently as there were in the past, but perhaps that's just my opinion. Like I said, you'd have some solo artists like Michael Jackson, Prince, and the emergence of hip hop. As far as whole bands go I'm hard pressed to find anything besides Radiohead and U2 who you could really say made a difference AND saw widespread, consistent success. I just can't count Pearl Jam due to so much "filler."

Yea it was 1986 or so. I was a teenager. They were good guys. It was a one time thing. I was far from being a big tough guy.

Agreed. I'm a big fan of Pearl Jam but they were not the band that put the music world on its axis in the 90s. That distinction would go to Nirvana.

As we all know, the 90's was the Golden Age of popular music, according to people unfamiliar with any other decade in history.

Similarly, the nineties was the greatest time to replace football team logos that had been in place for generations, according to Robert Kraft, and people who never heard of the New England Patriots, or the game of football, before.

Besides if another team starts getting too good over, let's say, a 5 year period, won't the losers who keep Goodell in power get him to do something about it?

He'll do something about it unless its the Jets or Giants

there will be a lot more success in this franchise when those two go. There will be more super owls. Who knows, but we may get some all time great players 20-30 years from now that help us win 1-2 championships.

No player like Brady will play for one team for the price Brady has. There is so much unique about what he is. we will never see it again.

Maybe luck and flacco could figure this out!

5 SB wins as a starting QB is one of those things that's rare enough that you could very well go the rest of your life and never see it again. It's hard to state anything more definitively than that, though. I bet a lot of 49ers fans were sure there would never be another Joe Montana, and yet a few decades later there was. No matter how high you set the bar, there's always a very good chance someone will come along and break it, and probably sooner than you'd expect.

I am extremely confident that it won't be broken by anyone playing right now, though.

What a silly statement to make on a board read by Bill Russell fans.

I guess it's all about what you cherish, winning or being an icon.

Did sports even count back then?

Before athletes were groomed, and players could transition around the globe

I think he plays until he feels he can no longer play at the standard he has set for himself and the QB position regardless of rings. I don't see him hanging on if he becomes a shell of himself, though. So here's to hoping Kellerman really is an idiot like we all believe and Brady plays at the highest level well into his 40's.

I hear you. As the saying goes, "Records were made to be broken." I think we can see it happen sooner rather than later because the rules become more and more favorable to QB's every season it seems. Where I believe the difference will be is coaching. GB has a great QB (though his play the past two seasons has been surprisingly questionable) but a moron for a coach.

Also, Brady's consistency is off the charts. Had he ever actually had a bad overall season? That could also be a huge factor. Just think, he could have had six already. I want the ring for the thumb and think they have a great chance with the team being what it is. The coaching staff seems to also be firing on all cylinders right now as well. The time is now, as I believe we'll lose both coordinators at the end of this season regardless.

Well it would take a minimum of 5 years to match.

But it probably won't be for a long, long time.
It's extremely difficult to build a consistent winner in
a world that has salary caps and free agency.

For right now Brady is the GOAT. I'm hoping he can win 6 though and really put it out of reach.

It's real tough to forecast any active QB reaching Brady's accomplishments. The stratification of the league is pretty murky right now.

My gut says Wilson and Roethlisburger are most likely to reach 3 SB wins, and they have a very outside chance at 4. Rodgers seems to be in decline. Newton and Luck are all ready pretty deep into their careers without a ring, and Luck's Colts look years away from serious contention. Nobody drafted after 2012 has really established himself in the QB pecking order.

Dak Prescott could be a dark horse. With Elliott at RB, and insane young offensive line, the Cowboys can devote their resources into defense and could emerge as a post-Brady powerhouse. Still, that is pipe-dream speculation at best.

As far as all-around career accomplishments, it may never happen. I suspect that Brady will play until he can't anymore or until he breaks all of Peyton's records. Modest and humble as he may come off, I see Brady at age 39 wanting to retire as the undisputed GOAT at any position. Should that happen along with a 5th or even 6th ring, then we're looking at Jordan-level greatness.

Guys, I'm gonna probably cry when Brady retires.

Well no QB has 5. Terry Bradyshaw had 4 and then Joe Montana got his 4. If Brady gets 5 I would be shocked if any QB ever gets 6. I mean you never know but just think how hard it is to win in the NFL, with all the personnel turnover from year to year. In the pre salary cap/free agent era teams stayed together for ever. Nowadays the coach is constantly coaching up new players and the QB constantly is adjusting and playing with new players.. no one has done it like New England over the 16 years BB and TB have been a combo.

Brady needs to WIN 5 this year! Its going to be much harder for him after this year. Age and Roster turnover is apparently coming.

Brady is going to play until Nominee Sanders picks all of Black Lives Matters to be his running mate.
