I'm pretty sure he means, does he have a HOF caliber player in any of those sports.

When we are talking Brady it is way beyond HoF, it's the Rushmore level of the sport and clearly none of the other teams has that kind of generational talent. I'd say the B's have 2 probable HoF players on their roster right now but even added together they are not Tom F Brady.

No, because he wouldn’t have the absolute GOAT at the most important position on the floor or ice. Hell, it was looking like he wasn’t even going to be successful with the Patriots until Bledsoe got rocked.

Ignoring the obvious Brady effect, I don't think that BB would be as successful in any other sport with the possible exception of hockey. Hockey and football are the two sports where the players are most in tune with their coaches. In baseball and basketball the players would tune BB out.

He'd be Pop. Fisher's shot in 2004 would be his Tyree catch. Allen's shot in 2013 would be his Manningham catch.

Regards,
Chris

assuming he could be as good a coach in any of those sports as he is in football, do you think he would be more or less successful (playoff appearances, champs, etc) in those sports?

Some things to keep in mind:
-cap
-series playoff format
-complexity

What do y’all think?
Ok so some assumptions...

-He had strong mentoring from his parents and others early in his college/amature career on dicipline.
-Had had a "pink stripes" buddy behind the curtain.
-He was mentored by a HoF coach on tactics, team chemistry and strategy
-He had a great owner who gave him the autonomy he needed to execute his program
-He had a handful HoF/GOAT players for his career.

You can apply the same exact conditions to....

Phil Jackson
Scotty Bowman
Joe Torre
Tony LaRussa
Red Auerbach

BB is a great mind. If nurtured, yes.

Fully guaranteed contracts are a whole different ball game.....baseball would likely cause him to quit, basketball depends too much on what 3 guys you have, hockey would be the closest

-He had a great owner who gave him the autonomy he needed to execute his program
...AFTER driving Parcells out of town
...AFTER signing a declining, ineffective quarterback to the richest contract in history
...AFTER said QB was mercifully replaced by somebody...who was competent...and effective

To clarify, Bob DID commit the organization to winning right from the outset

And he didn't hesitate to spend to win
-He had a handful HoF/GOAT players for his career.
HE got most of those guys...including Brady
Phil Jackson
Scotty Bowman
Please, no. Not in the same universe. Neither of them.

To clarify, Scotty took advantage of his opportunities, and he didn't stink.

Phil deserves credit for his intellectual investment, approach, and his initiative and innovation.

He just doesn't deserve to be lumped in with Red any more than anybody else does.

God sakes man. Lighten up

How can “more” even be an option?

Agree with comments about hockey being closest comparison, and BB’s likely success in that sport.

But why were rugby and lacrosse omitted?
