BenJarvus Green-Ellis spent much of last season battling through a foot injury, and it appears he's dealing with another now that he's with the Bengals in Cincinnati.
According to the Dayton Daily News Green-Ellis is expected to miss Thursday's preseason game at Atlanta due to a foot injury.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis told reporters on Sunday that the injury is not considered serious, saying Green-Ellis might practice later this week.
It's not known if the foot that's injured is the same one that bothered him last season.
The former Patriot carried 7 times for 22 yards (3.1 avg) during Cincinnati's 17-6 exhibition win over the Jets last week, and also had one reception for 18 yards.
Lewis said that the upside to some of the injuries they're dealing with - which includes Green-Ellis - should give him an opportunity to get a look at some of the other players.
"I'm looking forward to getting some other guys some more playing time," said Lewis. "That will be good, particularly in the backfield for sure."
