This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

JSP - As a Tackle in pass protection, "holding the line" get's you beat and your QB sacked. This idea you're pushing that Campbell was getting moved all over the field is severally flawed. An OT has to move with the Edge rusher and keep himself between the Rusher and the QB. That's what mirroring is all about.

It's not "bend, don't break". It's being a good OT. Keeping your QB clean. Not allowing him to feel pressure from the man you're blocking.
Correct - I think someone misinterpreted that I said that Campbell fell down on the job in the last game. Yes he was getting pushed back but as long as he keeps the QB safe, who cares. He did his job.

No doubt, we all know that Maye was among the most sacked in the NFL this season with 15 in the playoffs so neither is anyone saying he or the OL is perfect, even if we want to acknowledge that Maye's held onto the ball too long at times.

I think we'll certainly see some $ being spent on the inside OL this free agency and draft season too

But for this game, I don't think Campbell will face the same test and that we'll see both guards feeling the heat to keep Maye clean.

Ok. I misunderstood your post. It seemed like you were upset that Campbell was mirroring his guy well and keeping him away from Drake. Unlike against Anderson/Hunter where he got walked back into the pocket on a couple of occasions.

This game could be like SB 46. The game flow...not the result. Both defenses played very well overall. The offenses made some plays. But were not explosive by any means. It comes down to one team executing on their last drive.

Considering that you've shown a complete inability to comprehend what others are telling you and the fact that you're projecting your inadequacies onto others, your opinion of me is as worthless as your opinion of Drake Maye.

The fact that you don't think you lashed out at @n1997y is proof as to where the problem lies.

You never said that inexperience leads to less success. So, now you're flat out lying.

I haven't created any issues that don't exist. That's actually YOU. Since you claimed that people wanted an echo chamber. Since you claimed that Drake may isn't understanding that much game film so that the game slows down in his mind.

Here are just some of the blathering moronic statements you've made:
"There's no way Maye is retaining that much knowledge or making that many reads. It's too early for him to understand that much game film and slow it down in his mind, on the field."

"Maye has basically zero on the scale of knowledge and experience compared to a majority of QBs. He's riding a team succeeding wave and making less mistakes at the right time to get this far."

"He has very little experience and that can count against you in a freaking super bowl"

Maye has 30 games of experience. That's more than Tom Brady had when he went to the Super Bowl. That's more than Marino had when Marino went to the SB in his 2nd Season. That's 2 games fewer than Russell Wilson had when he went to the Super Bowl in his 2nd Season. It's just 5 fewer games than Patrick Mahomes had for his 1st SB.

The narcissistic and arrogant one is you since you're the one stomping your feet and claiming "Because I said so" without actually providing a shred of evidence to support your claims.
Ok. ok, more narcissistic and not self aware banter. You're completely making up things that don't exist and weren't related to anything I said or the way i said it.
He has 30 games of experience.? That equate to sucking last year and doing good this year. Have you only been a sports fan for 3 years? Guys get hot and then fall off into no where. Or even if decent never get back.
I'm not saying anything wrong. I'm just saying true generalities that you're afraid of.
I'm not the one insulting anyone or lashing out. You're the on getting totally emotionally involved. Did you not see the part where I said I'm still undecided? That means I've seen enough sports to know it's somewhat unpredictable aspects.
You're all getting into this like it's some gang fight or disagreeing with is a bad thing.
Calm down. Are we grown ups here or not?
It's a program you watch. Nothing more.

1.) Can I get a Cliffs Notes summary (no names needed) on the political content that @Ian removed from the OP? I can’t for the life of me think of what could have been “political” in a PFK idle thoughts post?

2.) Yup, I was so happy about Maye having ZERO turnovers. And he did almost toss an interception early on when targeting Diggs…there were 3 orange jerseys in the vicinity and someone had their hands on it. This Maye kid is pretty good, but again ONLY 23 years old!!!

3.) The last 3 weeks, Maye has consistently made the “killer shot “ to put the game away. The TD to Hunter Henry, the TD to Boutte, and the bootleg run for a game clinching first down. I am just so happy that he can hang in there and just make plays when he has to.

4.) I think that if we focus on Kenneth Walker III/the rushing offense, put Gonzo w/safety help on JS, man up on Kupp/Barner, and kick AWAY from Shaheed….we should be okay defensively.

5.) Never cared much for the point spread, media hot takes, fan opinions, and etc…. I just know that…in the immortal words of Bill Cowher, “There is a fine line between winning and losing in the NFL”. I mean man….c’mon:

- Leonard Myers allowing an easy interception go thru his arms in 2002.
- Bailey’s interception return that should have been a fumble out of the end zone in the 2005 divisional at Denver.
- Phantom PI on Hobbs in 2006’s AFC title game.
- Helmet catch in SB 42.
- A Favre to Keller 3rd and long in OT back in 2008.
- Pat Chung’s weird fake punt call just before halftime of the 2010 divisional vs. the Jets.
- Manningham’s catch because Chubg cheated inside (or Welker’s drop) in SB .
- Gronk’s forearm injury in the 2013 playoffs.
- Missed PAT in the 2015 AFC title game (or Chris Harper’s muffed punt earlier that year)
- Benching Bulter, seeing Brandin Cooks get knocked out, questionable TD calls, and etc… in SB 52.
- AB failed experiment in 2019.
- Maybe even Cam Newton getting COVID.
- When Jakobi Meyers auditioned for the Raiders in 2022.

*OK, we sucked in 2002, 2009, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024….but I disgress.

Bottom line, change any of the above plays one way or another…we might have even more Lombardis, playoff berths, etc… that is the point here… any game can be won or lost in the NFL. Same can be said about all of our six Super Bowl winning seasons.

6.) I think we want to force the Seahawks to abandon the run game and air it out. Create quick possessions for the Seahawks and hopefully turnovers or back breaking penalties/sacks taken.

No, it's childish idiocy. You're insulting someone over nothing but a difference of a opinion about a sports debate and trying to challenge decades of common sense. A second year pro is nothing more than a second year pro. He may have talent but nothing is proven yet. Pretty simple logic and reality equation.
Please stop acting like I'm hurting your family or your job.
I haven't even decided who I think wins.
I've gone back and forth twice.
Have a nice week, sir.
No I agree with him.

love it when other teams fans show up to troll.

7 of 8 good paragraphs gets you an 87% or B+ for this effort (ditto: @PatsWickedPissah ).

Re: Campbell. I’m still not convinced that was a missed cut block, as much as a wild attempt to get ANY PIECE of his body in the path between Bonino & Drake.

You can guarantee that Seattle is going to line up some one relatively quick off the snap (or who is will8ng to test the refs no calls) at that 7-8 yard out position where they can fly in at an angle Will can’t reasonably get to.
THEY HAVE SEEN THE FILM (3x) !!!

So, how do you stop it?
A. Move a RB or TE to that side when you see the alignment. Responsibility; chip to force DE back inside
Or, my preference …
B. Motion the right TE to cross after the snap and WHAM THE F outta the bastard.
Do it right and they only try it once.

[ Your thoughts Ken @patfanken ?]
`
I'm not sure Seattle attacks our passing game from out wide. The strength of their D is like ours, from the inside with their DTs I kthink what we'll see will look more like those clips that showed how Milton was successful for us by lining up with Barmore on the OT's giving us a 5 man line look. Line up Leonard Williams on Will's outside shoulder with edge on the outside shoulder of the TE. Then have the DT attack through Will's inside shoulder, while the Edge blows through the TE's chip and pressures Will's outside shoulder hoping the inside move by the DT knocks Campbell off balance making the edge more difficult defend. Something like that.

BTW- for the record all 8 of my paragraphs were spot on. It was just that one of them was inappropriate to the subject matter and justly edited out. This is my only mode of expression to the internet, unfortunately and when news of the day becomes so dire I'm about to explode, it comes out almost uncontrollably,

The good news is once I express it, I'm pretty much good, it's not like I'm looking for a discussion. Maybe someone could direct me to a more appropriate site in a private message or Ian can start one here. At any rate, if it happens again, please feel free to ignore, delete or edit or PM especially if you think I'm full of ****. I mean, "nationalizing elections"?????

You need to stop using words that you have no idea what they mean. There is nothing narcissistic about my post.
I haven't made anything up. I've quoted you verbatim. YOU, on the other hand, have been making things up since your first post in this thread.

He has 30 games of experience.? That equate to sucking last year and doing good this year. Have you only been a sports fan for 3 years? Guys get hot and then fall off into no where. Or even if decent never get back.

I've been following this team since 82. I've played sports my whole life as well. You literally just made more s**t up in response to my providing 4 other examples of 2nd year players who went to the Super Bowl. Unlike you, I understand it's a team sport and that the QB can only take a team so far. That there are 21 other starters and dozens of other players that compose the team and help them get to the Super Bowl.

Of the 4 other QBs I mentioned, 1 is in the Hall of Fame, 2 others are guaranteed locks. Only Russell Wilson is questionable as to whether he makes the Hall or not. Wilson DID go to another Super Bowl. If you had ACTUALLY wanted to counter my examples, you'd have found an example of a 2nd yr QB going to the SB, LOSING and never doing anything else in his career.. Instead, you just threw out speculative garbage with nothing to support yourself. Again.

I'm not saying anything wrong. I'm just saying true generalities that you're afraid of.

You've spewed garbage and made claims about Maye that are flat out WRONG. Claiming you only said "true generalities" is a flat out lie on your part. Contrary to your blathering, I'm not afraid of anything you've stated. No one is. Because you've only made those generalities in a pathetic attempt to backtrack and CYA. Unfortunately for you, the people on this board see through that sort of BS.

I'm not the one insulting anyone or lashing out. You're the on getting totally emotionally involved. Did you not see the part where I said I'm still undecided?\
OH. I get it. When you blather on and flat out lie saying that someone only wants an echo chamber, it's not an insult. You calling someone's LEGIT response to you "childish idiocy" isn't an insult because YOU say it. And you think I'm the narcissist?

That means I've seen enough sports to know it's somewhat unpredictable aspects.
Newsflash for you. You didn't say jack about being undecided until your 6th post in the thread. It was a pathetic attempt at backtracking by you and it was obvious to everyone who read your post.

You're all getting into this like it's some gang fight or disagreeing with is a bad thing.
Calm down. Are we grown ups here or not?
It's a program you watch. Nothing more.
Again. You have no idea what you're talking about.

People disagree on here all the time. But they back up their statements with opinions based on facts while pointing to said facts. YOU came in, made unsubstantiated statements about Maye and then threw a hissy fit because @n1997y called you out on it. Since then, you've backtracked, lied, and made other unsubstantiated comments while blaming everyone else for your issues.

Being "a grown up" just means your at least the age of 18. It has no bearing on maturity or your ability to present a cogent argument. It doesn't entitle you to special treatment or to say whatever you want without consequence. Thinking that you can just spew and not get called out on it is the epitome of arrogance and narcissism.

A few more days of "Drake Maye can't hold onto the ball"/"Drake Maye holds onto the ball too long"/"Can they rush the QB"/"That won't work against the 6th ranked D (even though we were okay against the 1st/3rd/5th defenses)/"Time to turn back into a pumpkin"/But the SCHEDULE... blah blah blah...

Just watching the SB media day show this morning while the coffee kicks in, & procrastinating :/ ... so far, not as stupid as the above... that's just how the post-season has felt...

BTW, I'm finding the less handsome, polished, etc. Drake Maye I don't know... more genuine than the GOAT. Don't get me wrong, I'll take the 6 rings etc. over an "aw shucks" routine. It's just refreshing.

Props to the director that fixed Brady's comic timing in the "Pizza... HUT" commercial. Manning always mopped the floor with him in comparative SNL stints.

Also, we better check whether the Pats played with footballs inflated to the lower end of the range. Imagine the loss of the public's trust. That Tisch guy from the Gintz partying on Epstein's Island? That doesn't bring any dishonor to the Shield...

It is a football site. Many disagree with what you posted. Probably about 1/2 the country. Many of us come here so we don't have to listen to the crap from either side, it is our safe space. Football isn't political, don't make it that way. Doesn't matter that you are old, funnel that old energy towards good posts!

So basically you're illiterate or a narcissist who just contradicts and copies people.

I said - inexperience leads to less success a majority of the time. That's a basic universsl truth. Lol at calling what I said baseless.
What tantrum? Where? Who's lashing out? Who's insulting anyone? Calm down.
You're creating issues in your head that don't exist.
One of the best features of this site is the ignore option.

So which one(s) are you ignoring?
DaBruins or Plunkett?

Note: If you go for the daily double, this thread is only 2 pages instead of 4.
…A quicker read.
But not nearly as entertaining.. You know you love watching Trolls get destroyed...

Ok. You're getting a tad nasty lol. Just sports talk. Zero comprehension is a bit strong and silly.
No. The team succeeded on the whole but nothing I said can be disputed. Maye has basically zero on the scale of knowledge and experience compared to a majority of QBs. He's riding a team succeeding wave and making less mistakes at the right time to get this far. I'm not saying anything wrong or false. im not saying they won't win or that he's bad. Simply the truth. He has very little experience and that can count against you in a freaking super bowl. It's a experiential fact of life and football.

You need to be unbiased and consider something. Would he have done better in better weather last week and the week before. Or did the weather help the Pats vs the other team.
Maybe, maybe not.

One week to see
Simple wisdom.

Only thing I can muster is
....

Love you guys/girls.

The world sucks right now ...

But we got to rally behind the team who no one really took seriously after the last 3 or 4 years.

Sure, things might have fallen in our favor quite a few times this year, but it doesn't matter. We showed up and we took care of business.

Enjoy seasons like this because we don't know what the next few hold. I'm certainly hoping that we can bring one home because we definitely deserve it after this season.

The reality is, however it might not be so easy....... I hope the front office and the coaching staff can make the correct decisions and I hope Drake continues to grow.

The ball is now in the front offices court.

Play makers.....NOW.

I think playing a stronger schedule next year will be beneficial.

Steel sharpens steel.

This team, especially the QB, was unprepared to deal with better teams with better talent after rolling through lesser opponents. Drake Maye was in over his head, the game was too fast for him, and he was playing scared to not fumble, throw to the wrong color jerseys, or make costly mistakes. So he played tentatively and that was the most costly mistake of all. He was out of sync all night, missing throws, indecisive, making bad reads. He may have needed this as a wake-up call that it’s not always as easy as it was for him early in the year, against soft opponents.

We will see how Maye responds. If he doesn’t respond well maybe DeVito should be starter next year.
