You might be right, but I doubt, its a valid long term strategy. Having a player double teamed by two guys, who can't even remotely help on other areas of the field comes with a steep price. And it should also be possible to wriggle out of that one with some pre-snap movement. Actually its pretty weak by the Falcons not to have tried to exploit this more, when they saw it the second time.
Agreed - I think Belichick and Patricia pulled out this wrinkle because they knew that Mike Smith wouldn't react in time for it to make a difference. Smith isn't exactly a situational guru who's capable of adjusting on the fly.
