"I wasn't trying to hurt him. I'm not that type of a player, you know?"

I suspect that any evaluation not made by patriot and redskins fans would concluded that both Wilfork and Seymour were "dirtier" players than Haynsworth. In any case, they are all top players who play hard and do NOT go out of their way to try to injure opposing players.

Other than that, what other evidence do you have to say his a dirty player? Would you say Seymour is a dirty player?

I agree with the poster.
He's not whining about the hit on Brady.
He's pointing out the obvious.... that a player who stomps on another players exposed head with his cleat is OBVIOUSLY THAT type of player.

Is stomping on Andre Gurode's head his attempt at "trying not to hurt" him?

The league felt differently when they suspended and fined him for it.

This is just him saying he is "not that type of player" because he has already established that he IS that type of player, and just doesn't want his clean hit on one of the leagues meal tickets/poster boys last night to bring further scrutiny on himself.
He proved he was dirty with that stomp.
Marcus Vick proved the he was dirty for his step on Elvis Dumervill in college (but in his defense, his entire gene pool is filthy.. he never had a chance)
and I can remember several posters here being outraged at the Pats for drafting Brandon Merriweather after he did something similar against a Florida State player.

I am worried about Bradys health but don't feel that the hit was neccessarily dirty.

Everybody here needs to realize that this is what the poster said and get off his back for pointing out what should be an obviously hilarious statement by Haynesworth.

Oh, please, Albert.

In Reiss's Pieces, Haynesworth is quoting as saying:

"I wasn't trying to hurt him. I'm not that type of a player, you know?"

and

"as far as trying to hurt somebody, I'm not trying to do that"

Andre Gurode would like you to watch the 26 second video:

YouTube - Albert Haynesworth stomps Andre Gurode

I'm not saying that Brady is hurt, or that Headstomp tried to hurt him, only amazed that someone who stepped on a opponent's unhelmeted head could say, "I'm not that type of player."

.
Technically Albert might be right, he usually hurts people after the play when he kicks them in the face or beats them with his helmut. (I think i read he did that in college)

Don't know why everyone's jumping on the OP- he outright said that he didn't think the hit on Brady was dirty. He simply said that once you've stomped on a guy's unprotected head while he's lying prone on the ground, you can 't really say "I'm not that type of player". Makes sense to me.

And I agree, FWIW. The hit on Brady didn't look dirty, and I 100% believe that he wasn't trying to hurt Brady. He hit him, which is his job. But unfortunately for him, trying to convince people that he isn't the type of player who would hurt someone is a losing battle, because his history proves otherwise.

The difference, Mr. Blind to the obvious, was a helmet.

Really I could've sworn Seymour stumped on Tarik Glenn's face during a Colts game a few years back.

Dear Mr. Blind to the Obvious,

Tarik Green was wearing a helmet. What Seymour did was stupid. He could have hurt his ankle..

Tell you what, I'll wear a football helmet and let you stomp on my head for five minutes as long as the helmet does not come off.

In return you let me stomp on your unhelmeted head for only 5 seconds.

Unless you think that is a great deal, BO, maybe you are comparing apples to oranges.

It is funny but to be fair that o lineman supposedly went at his knees. Now thats a cheap shot Hayneworth was just letting him no that was unacceptable, albeit in a cruel way

I can't believe you guys. The obvious difference was who was wearing a helmet. Case closed.

Suppressed memories

Are we gonna go through this crap everytime Brady gets hit?

Newsflash: Football is a violent sport played by really big men, most of whom are out to inflict as much pain on the opponent as possible without truly injuring them!
